Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  Happy Memorial Day as we reflect with gratitude on all those who have given their lives while serving in the US military. This is it May... one last weather report for you until next year!  It looks like no one is returning home with sunburn from this Memorial Day weekend.  We're once again waking to skies covered in thick clouds, dampness from the weekend rains and breezes barely there (NW 5-10mph).  It's chilly and a bit raw this morning as May begins her escape.  The good news is, Ms Sun will shine today as these clouds will be spreading out allowing some warm rays in.  The dry out is coming thankfully. There's a mix of clouds and sun, a high of 70° and W-NW winds at 10-15mph on the weather menu today. Tonight... clouds will have pretty much cleared out with a low of 58° and W-SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy turning cloudy by the afternoon, high of 71° and S-SW breezes at 10-15mph.  You've been a pretty decent month this year May.  Until next year, see you on the other side!

Rain Continues Today

Mornin'!  Happy Memorial Weekend!  The Weekend that's always a "hit or miss" and 2021 is a "miss".  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining.  It's windy (N-NE at 18-22mph).  It couldn't get any more miserable in the weather department.   And, sorry to report the miserable weekend weather continues along.  I'm just relieved and so happy my family has filled my home with their love and laughter this weekend and who cares about weather. It's been raining hard and consistently with gale force winds at least since Friday afternoon and will continue to do so until tonight. Talk about "lousy and saturated" conditions!  Expect a chilly, rainy and windy Sunday with a high of 56° and North winds at 15-25mph.  Chance of rain is 100%.  Tonight... 25% chance of rain, cloudy with clearing expected late.  Temps will be down to 50° and N-NW winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... Ms Sun returns with a few clouds from time to time and a high of 71° and W-NW at 10-20mph helping to start drying out.

Wet And Windy

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  Feels like 50° with the winds blasting us this morning.  Winds are out of the NE at 25-30mph +gusting. We had torrential rains early this morning.  There are some "warnings" posted.  A "Coastal Flood Warning" is up meaning that tidal flood is occurring or imminent.  Be prepared for rising water levels and take appropriate action (be aware of high tide times, flood sirens, prepare to move your vehicle if in a low-lying flood area, protect life and property etc).  Do not drive through flood waters.  It could be deeper than you think and you will definitely be damaging your vehicle.  A "Gale Warning" is also posted until tomorrow at 6pm. Mariners should alter plans to avoid these conditions.  Seek safe harbor, alter course and/or secure the vessel.  Entering the surf is highly discouraged.  Anyone doing so is putting their lives in danger.
Okay, enough of the warnings.  It'll be a rainy and windy Memorial Day weekend Saturday.  Expect rains and winds throughout the day.  Temps will be in the upper 50s with NE winds at 25-30mph.  Tonight, more rain with temps staying where they are now... mid-upper 50s.  And, of course those NE winds at 25-30mph.  Tomorrow... sorry to report but the same as today.  Monday... sun returns by mid-day and not as windy.

Happy Birthday Joe and Happy Start To The Holiday Weekend

Mornin'!  Happy Birthday to my hubby!  This one's for you darling.  I love you to the moon and back!  It's 65° in Wildwood NJ.  Winds are out of the E-NE at 10-20mph and it's becoming cloudy.  It was sunny when I first woke but clouds are drifting in  as Ms Sun is nowhere to be found at the moment.  There's still blue sky up there, but she's got her work cut out for her this morning.  Happy Memorial Day Weekend.  It's the unofficial start to the Holiday weekend.  I'm happy to report that my family is visiting this weekend for the first time since Christmas 2019.  Excitement is an understatement.  We're definitely going with plan "B" for activities this weekend due to the crapola weather up ahead.  Expect partly sunny / partly cloudy conditions for this morning with rain showers developing this afternoon.  Temps will stay around where they are now... mid-60s.  E-NE winds will ramp up even more at 20-30mph.  Chance of rain is 70%.  Tonight... rain likely (90% chance), low 57° with E-NE winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... rainy (80% chance) and chilly (high of 59°) with NE winds at 25-35mph.  Sunday... 60% chance of rain, high of 60° and still windy.  Monday... our saving grace with mostly sunny conditions, high of 70° and much calmer winds.

A Beauty On Tap

Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  Breezes are light out of the NW at 5-7mph.  The sky is clear.  Last night's storms left us nicely watered (we needed a good soaking that's for sure).  The heavy Pollen as of late seems to be somewhat diluted.  The sea air is clean and crisp.  And, some nice weather is in store for us.  Expect a beauty today with plentiful sunshine, temps tapping 80° and W-NW breezes at 10-15mph.  Tonight... a few clouds filter over the island, low of 62° and SW breezes shifting to the NE at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy start with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon, high around 66° and those East winds will be ramping up at 10-20mph (there's a 50% chance of rain later in the afternoon).  The holiday weekend's still looking gray and "wet" with Saturday and Sunday having rainy days on the forecast (50-80% chance).  The rain should be out of here by Monday morning as we'll have a partly sunny day Memorial Day.

Full "Super" Moon Wednesday

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  Breezes are out of the SW at 10-15mph with hazy, cloudy conditions.  Ms Sun's up but is making every effort she can to shine through the haze. There's more clouds than clear sky up there at the moment, but I just got a big burst of sunshine in the front porch windows.  The briny sea air is lovely and the seagulls could vouch for me as they're all over the neighborhood laughing and making their presence known.  It's the Full (Super) Moon today and the Tides will be much higher than normal.  You'll definitely be seeing sea water seeping onto the island in low-lying areas during high tide times.  And, remember that the ocean tides and the marsh (back bay) tides are an hour apart.  The Marsh high tide is always an hour later.  Be aware of where you drive or park as sea water is extremely corrosive to the undercarriage in vehicles.  Expect a mostly cloudy day with peeks of sunshine.  Temps will get up into the 70s (probably the mid-70s) with S-SW winds ramping up even more at 15-25mph.  Tonight... 40% chance of scattered showers and/or thunderstorms early, then partly cloudy after midnight.  Those storms by the way, could contain very strong, gusty winds.  Temps will drop down to the mid-60s tonight.  W-SW winds are too (at 15-25mph +gusting).  Tomorrow... a bit of cloud cover to kick off the morning, giving way to mainly sunny skies with temps tapping 80° and W-NW winds at 10-15mph.  So, let's get the weekend forecast (as of now) out there.  It's not that good.  But, Memorial Weekend is always a hit or miss and can go from cold and raw to warm and lovely.  2021's Memorial Day Weekend Weather: Friday is partly cloudy to start and 40-50% chance of rain by the afternoon and a high of 65°; Saturday is cloudy with 50% chance of rain and a high of 60°; Sunday is 30% chance of rain and very windy and a high of 63°; Monday is 20% chance of rain with a high of 65°.  At this time, it's looking like a "miss", but ya never know!  Those visiting could very well get some seashore action in between the clouds, winds and raindrops.  Fingers crossed!

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up but having a tough time getting through the thick cloud cover this morning.  She has gotten a few peeks in but the clouds seem to be winning the take-over.  Breezes are out of the SE at 7-10mph.  It's a mostly gray start to the day but peeks of sunshine will continue throughout the day.  Temps will be in the upper 60s with S-SE winds ramping up at 10-15mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy, low-60s, S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny (intervals of clouds and sun) with a stray late afternoon thunderstorm possible.  Temps will be in the low-70s with Southerly winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow's the Full (Super) Moon... tides are higher than normal and the skies have certainly become brighter during the night.  We may actually see a moonrise again this month!

Windy Monday

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  Thank Goodness.  Boy oh boy did it get summery fast.  We just about hit 90° yesterday and it was 80° at midnight with not much in breezes.  Everything changed around 2am as the temps dropped into the 60s bringing a breeze with it!  We've got refreshing, cool temps with fantastic sea breezes... E-NE at 15-20mph at the moment.  Hubby and I knew all of this and decided to ride it through and NOT put our air conditioner on just yet (unlike most of our neighbors).  I have to admit, it was uncomfortable at times.  For now it's all behind us.  It's cloudy and gray and breezy at the moment and it looks like it will be most of the day. I'm grateful those stiff, cool breezes are now wafting through my home.  Ms Sun will be peeking in though off and on all day long but mostly in the afternoon.  Temps will only be in the mid-upper 60s with East winds at 15-25mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy, down to mid-50s, and E-SE winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... Ms Sun partly returns with temps in the upper 60s and S-SE winds at 10-20mph.

A Bit Of A Sunny Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 71° in Wildwood NJ.  That's feeling like a "Key West" morning to me!  Ms Sun's up and doing her best to shine through cloud cover.  It's been a gray morning and all of a sudden, it's brightening up and we seem to be getting peeks of sunshine.  I'm thinking we're getting a preview of today's weather. Breezes are light out of the W-NW at 5-10mph. Yesterday we hit 89° and what a warm one it was!  We made it through without turning the air conditioner on thanks to the island breezes.  Not so for all the visitors surrounding me... AC's are-a-humming. It'll be another warm one with partly to mostly sunny conditions with temps in the low-80s today .  Breezes are going to pick up out of the West again at 10-20mph.   Tonight... partly cloudy, followed by overnight clouds.  Low of 61°, NW winds shift to the E-NE at 10-20mph.  Around 9ish there's a slight chance of a passing shower.  Tomorrow... cloudy and much cooler with a high of 64°, chance of a passing shower later in the afternoon (25%) and still breezy.  Sounds like Mother Nature's air conditioning is on tap!  I can't forget to mention that the Rip Currents are still checked in... we're in the Red Zone which means it's dangerous with potentially life threatening conditions existing for anyone entering the surf.  It made the big city as well as national news yesterday.  You gotta respect Mother Nature if you want to be safe and sound.  The Full Moon is in 3 days and it's another Super Moon with Tides already showing signs of becoming bloated.  Always be cognizant of those High Tides.

Summer Preview

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got another lovely start to the day with plentiful sunshine, light breezes out of the SW at 4-6mph and not a cloud in the sky.  Yet.  Clouds are supposed to drift on in later this morning as temps climb up into the low-mid 80s.  Breezes are checking in along with the clouds. Expect a breezy day with winds out of the West at 10-20mph.  Tonight... cloudy and becoming partly clear late (closer to midnight).  Temps will drop down into the mid-upper 60s with NW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunshine, high of 85° with those cranky W-NW winds at 10-20mph +gusting.  I'm going to start adding "rip current" to my reports as the ocean's going to be loaded with dangerous rip currents today and I'm sure by the way the island's looking this weekend (packed house), there will be more than a few peeps dipping their toes into the drink.  THERE ARE NO LIFEGUARDS ON THE BEACH (until next weekend)!  I'd stay out of the ocean if I were you.  Ending on a good note... the Wildwood Wine Festival is today and tomorrow at Byrne Plaze at 3400 Pacific Avenue starting at noon today ($25 to enter).

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  Here we go again... I'm beginning to sound like a broken record but Ms Sun just crossed over the horizon and the sky is blue without a cloud anywhere.  Breezes are light out of the West at 4-6mph.  The island birds are waking and no doubt waking all of us humans.  They woke me at 5:40am.  It's another perfectly lovely start to the day.  Expect a sunny day with temps tapping 80°!  I checked my weather blog history and the last day I reported an 80° day was September 14th.  And by the way, Summer's 32 days away!  And, another note... the Full (Super) Moon is next Wednesday.  And, it'll be the closest full moon to earth this entire year.  For today's weather, it'll be a sunny, warm hump day with breezes out of the West at 10-15mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps where they are now (mid-50s) and SE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... much cooler or at least it'll feel a lot cooler after today.   Expect a partly cloudy day with a high of 67° and E-SE breezes at 10-15mph.  For the weekend... as of now, Saturday looks mostly cloudy with a high of 70° and Sunday looks partly sunny with temps possibly tapping 80° again!

A Perfect Friday Down The Shore

Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood NJ.  I feel like a broken record with reporting the same weather morning after morning.  But, it is what it is... sunny and bright with hardly a breeze (W-NW at 2-3mph).  It's another perfect Spring morning down the Shore!  The island birds can vouch for me.  They are as loud and happy as you can be.  It'll be a sunny to partly sunny day with a high of 67° and SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clear, low of 53° and those SW breezes still checked in at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... more of the same (just a tad breezier) and Sunday... not quite as sunny with a very slight chance of a stray shower.  Temps will be sticking around where they are today with breezes back in the 5-10mph range.

Mornin'!  It's 57° in Wildwood NJ.  Circumstances out of my control have made my blog a bit late this morning.  And, what a morning!  It's stunning!  Ms Sun's shining her warm rays over the island without a cloud in the sky!  Sea breezes are out of the North at 5-10mph.  The island birds are happily sounding off their pleasures.  The intermittent sound of the chimes on my back porch keep bringing "It's A Beautiful Morning" by the Rascals into my head.  It'll be a beauty today with abundant sunshine, high near 65° and S-SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clear, low of 51° and SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... a repeat of today as it'll be sunny, 65° and light breezes again.  At this time, the weekend's looking fair to middling meaning Saturday's looking like today (sunny and warmish) and Sunday's looking cloudy and cooler.

Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up.  There's a few, light, wispy clouds in the sky.  Breezes are light out of the N-NW at 5-8mph.  It's going to be nice today.  Yesterday didn't have a cloud in the deep blue sky with hardly a breeze but today will.  Expect a partly sunny / partly cloudy day with temps in the mid-60s.  Breezes will develop into "winds" out of the W-NW at 10-20mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps down to 50° and simmered down breezes out of the N-NW at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... almost just like yesterday... deep blue, cloudless sky, mid-60s and much lighter breezes.  At this time, the weekend's looking like it's full of sunshine although late Saturday afternoon could cloud up and bring a rain shower.  I'll be keeping an eye on that one. I forgot to mention that the New Moon was yesterday as I noticed the tides were much higher than usual.  The Full Moon and New Moon always create fuller than normal tides.

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  At the moment it's partly sunny / partly cloudy.  Ms Sun's up but navigating around this morning's cloud cover.  Breezes are light out of the N-NW at 5-7mph.  Expect a sunny to partly sunny day today with a high of 63°.  The N-NW winds will shift to the SW by early this afternoon all at 10-15mph.  Tonight... much cloudier becoming partly cloudy after midnight.  Temps are going to drop into the upper 40s with N-NW winds checking back in at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... almost a repeat of today but much stiffer winds (intervals of clouds and sun with a high near 65°).

Gray and Blustery Mother's Day

Mornin'! Happy Birthday to my daughter! There's no greater Mother's Day gift.  And, Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there.  Today's blog is dedicated to all of you but especially my first born who has filled my life with joy.  It's 50° and a bit chilly in Wildwood NJ.  Breezes are out of the W-NW at 5-7mph.  It's partly cloudy with Ms Sun obscured at the moment.  She's trying to shine through it all, but hasn't made it yet.  Expect lots of cloudy sky this morning, then some clearing in the early afternoon and then back to cloud cover becoming thicker making for a mostly cloudy afternoon later.  Temps will get into the upper 50s with S-SW winds ramping up at 15-25mph.  Tonight... overcast, low of 56°, windy with S-SW winds at 15-25mph +gusting.  Tomorrow... starting out cloudy with sunshine breaking through by the afternoon and a high of 64° with still blustery winds out of the W-NW at 15-25mph.

Saturday Mix

Today's Webcam Shot - North Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and being challenged with some cumulus clouds.  One moment, the sunshine is blinding me coming through the front porch windows and the next moment a darkened scenario surrounds me. This is my blog space as I sit here at a desk giving weather reports every morning.  Cool island breezes are currently out of the W-NW at 10-15mph.  One window next to me is slightly cracked so I cannot only feel that chilly air, but hear those loud island birds.  We had a fantastic watering during the night. Everything's dry except for puddles here and there. All outdoor greenery... thirst is quenched!

Today's weather is all over the place.  It'll be partly sunny this morning, turning to mostly cloudy.  By afternoon, a few showers develop as the temps reach the upper 50s.  Winds... still out of the W-NW will ramp some at 10-20mph.  Chance of rain is 30%.  Tonight... around dinner time, clouds begin to roll out as temps begin dropping.  Then, later tonight it'll be clear with a barely a cloud in sight as temps drop into the upper 40s with some NW winds still making their presence known at 10-20mph.  For Mother's Day tomorrow, a mix of clouds and sun becoming cloudy late in the day.  Temps will tap 60° and it'll still be a bit blustery.  It's perfect "wind-breaker" weather!

Sunny Start - Cloudy Ending

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood NJ.  It's sunny and calm (breezes are light out of the NE at 3-5mph).  It's a bit chilly, but quiet and lovely as the seagulls laugh throughout the neighborhoods.  It's a perfect Spring morning down the Shore if you ask me.  We have only 44 more days until Summer!  As for the weather, this perfectly lovely morning will begin to turn gray as clouds roll in.  Expect a partly cloudy morning, a mostly cloudy afternoon and a possibly rainy evening.  Today's temps... 60° with NE breezes beginning to shift to the East, then the E-SE, then SE by tonight's possible rainy period.  Breezes will be considerably light at 5-10mph.  Chance of rain tonight... 60%.  Tomorrow... overcast most of the day but with 50% chance of rain showers up until dinner time then Ms Sun makes her grand entrance along with some gusty winds; just in time for sunset.  Sunday... mostly cloudy with peeks of sunshine and a high of 58° with light winds. There's a 25% chance of rain showers Sunday night.  Rain is on the weather menu on Monday.

Mornin'!  Happy Birthday to my baby brother!  This one's for you!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and welcoming the day.  So are the island birds.  Happiness abounds.  We've got bright sunshine, breezes out of the N-NW at 10-15mph and a lovely day on tap.  It'll be sunny this morning, a few clouds drift in this afternoon when temps will be in the mid-60s.  W-NW will be sticking around a become a bit more blustery at 10-20mph.  Tonight... mostly cloudy with clearing late.  Temps will drop to the low-50s with S-SW breezes at 5-10mph  Tomorrow... same thing... sunshine in the a.m. with increasing clouds in the afternoon and temps tapping 60°.  At this time, the weekend's looking like Saturday will be coming off a rainy overnight with Ms Sun trying to shine by daybreak and sticking around through partly cloudy skies on and off all day long. Sunday... beginning dry and mostly clear with clouds rolling in bringing rain by the evening.

Cinco De Mayo

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  Happy Cinco De Mayo!  The 5th of May is a celebration of Mexican heritage commemorating the date of the Mexican army's victory over France at the battle of Puebla in 1862.  We're going to have a mix of weather today as we pop the Tequila. We're currently under partly cloudy / foggy skies but more so at the ocean side of the island as the marsh side has more breaks in the grayness.  Breezes are light out of the SW at 4-6mph.  Oh... we had a nice watering overnight as the plants, lawns, trees, flowers, veggies, herbs, birdbath and you name it... all watered nicely. For today, expect a mix of clouds and sun with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, high around 70° and Westerly breezes at 10-15mph.  Chance of showers is 50%.  Tonight... partly cloudy skies, low 50s and NW winds at 10-20mhp.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny  and cooler... low 60s with NW winds at 10-20mph. At this time, the weekend's looking cloud covered with showers here and there (Saturday morning and then again Sunday evening) but we all know that can change.

Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining through some milky clouds.  Breezes are out of the West at 4-6mph.  The island birds are off the chart this morning.  They're loud and boisterous including the seagulls who woke me this morning with their squawking and laughing.  Sounds to me like they're very happy with this lovely start of the day.  It'll be a partly sunny (some cloud cover in the mix) Tuesday with temps in the upper 70s.  West winds are sticking around and ramping up at 10-20mph.  Tonight... thicker clouds take over as there's a 40% chance of rain and even scattered thunderstorms.  Temps will drop down to 60° with Southerly breezes at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... unsettled with 50% chance of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, high of 72° and W-SW winds at 10-20mph.

Mornin'!  It's 64° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloudy skies.  It's was spitting just about a half hour ago.  Right now... just cloudy.  Breezes are light out of the W-SW at 5-10mph.  Looks like we're going to have a dreary day with mostly cloudy conditions and a very good possibility of scattered rain showers (possibly steady at times).  Chance of rain 50-70%.  Temps will get into the low 70s with Southerly breezes at 10-20mph. Tonight... cloudy, 70%  chance of rain likely with thunderstorms possible.  Temps will drop into the upper 50s with S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  After midnight... patchy fog.  Tomorrow... a beauty.  Ms Sun returns with a light sea-breeze.

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  It's partly cloudy with the ocean side of the island looking clear and bright with Ms Sun shining and the bay (marsh) side looking dark and ominous with thick cloud cover. I'd say rain clouds are heading our way.  Breezes are out of the SW at 10-15mph.  These approaching, heavy clouds could provide a 30% chance of rain this morning.  After that, it'll be a sunny Sunday with temps in the low-mid 70s.  SW winds will be hanging around all day into tonight anywhere from 10-20mph.  Tonight... mostly cloudy, low around 57° with lighter winds still from the SW direction.  Tomorrow... mostly cloudy day with a chance of showers and/or thunderstorms in the afternoon (40% chance).  Temps will once again be in the 70° range with South winds at 10-20mph.

FOOTNOTE: It's 4:30PM and I just wanted to add to the blog for the record... it's been a gorgeous summer day here today.  It's been sunny since 8am this morning as the skies have those light, milky clouds overhead.. The winds have died down but are still light and refreshing.  The temperature is now 82° and I'd definitely call this one a "beach day".  A beautiful beach day.  

May's Coming In Blustery And Chilly

Mornin'!  Welcome May!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  Windchill is 40° due to the relentless, wind gales.  I feel like I should be welcoming March.  What a night with those winds!  Enough already.  There's a "Gale Warning" still in effect until around 10-11am this morning.  I'm happy to report that Ms Sun's up and shining on us.  I'm counting on her to begin today's warm-up.  It's clear but with a smattering of clouds being rapidly pushed out to sea as the winds out of the NW at 20-30mph +gusting are howling over the island again.  Expect a partly sunny day with strong winds this morning out of the W-NW at 20-30mph +gusting.  Temps will be in the low 60s.  Even with the sunshine, it'll feel like we're in the mid-50s due to the winds.  Batten down those items up for sale in today's Wildwood Crest Borough Yard Sale! Tonight... a few passing clouds, low of 54° and SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... calmer and warmer with sunshine, temps in the low-70s and SW winds at 10-20mph.  Monday... cloudy and still breezy with temps in the low-60s and rain in the evening.  We can only hope that May will settle things down in the wind department and those April showers have done there job bringing all those May flowers.  Happy May Day!
