Hump Day Beauty

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under clear, starlit skies this early morning.  Breezes are barely there out of the N-NW at 2-4mph.  It'll be another pleasant Autumn day in Wildwood with plenty of sunshine, temps in the mid-60s and very light breezes (variable directions).  Tonight... clear, starlit skies, temps in the low-50s with light and variable breezes.  Tomorrow... except for a few afternoon clouds, mainly sunny, temps in the mid-60s and Southerly breezes at 10-15mph.  Friday... anywhere from 60-80% chance of rain, temps in the mid-60s with S-SE winds at 10-15mph.   As for this weekend... looks like we'll see rain the first half.  Expect a windy / rainy Saturday at least until around 2pm when it'll become partly cloudy along with peeks of sun, temps in the mid-60s and very stiff W-NW winds at 20-30mph.  Saturday night... partly cloudy, temps around 50° and windy with W-NW winds at 20-30mph.  Sunday... windy and partly sunny.  Temps will be around 60° with stiff winds out of the W-NW at 20-30mph.  Sunday night... mostly clear, temps down into the low-mid 40s and NW winds at 15-25mph.  This is where I begin a little time off from blogging as I'll be back to checking and posting weather reports the very beginning of November.  If you're interested in checking Wildwood's weather, it's right at your finger tips on my blog page right under "Personal Favs". Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  We have a windchill of  47° with those N-NW winds at 10-20mph.  I can't believe I'm typing 47°.  The last time I typed the 40s (actually 48°) was May 5th for the morning temperature.  In fact, the temperature today will get up to just about what it was 5 months ago (around 60°).  It's currently partly clear/partly cloudy, chilly and damp as we had plentiful rain yesterday and last night.  Winds are out of the N-NW at 10-20mph.  Ms Sun isn't quite shining but she sure is painting the sky and giving us a stunner again this morning.  If you want to see a spectacular, colorful sky... Wildwood is your place.  Temps will hover around 63° today with partly sunny skies and NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy, temps around 48°, NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... intervals of clouds and sunshine, temps around 60°, and NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow night... mostly clear, temps around 53° with NW winds at 5-10mph.

New Moon - Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy with breezes out of the S-SE at 2-3mph.  No rain yet but it's coming.  Expect rain showers today probably beginning around mid-day.  Temps will be in the mid-60s with SE winds at 10-15mph.  Chance of rain is 100%.  Tonight... more rain likely, becoming windy (NE 20-30mph), temps will drop to the low-50s.  We could get heavy rain tonight.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the low-60s with N-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Wildwood will not have the privilege of seeing this solar eclipse that scientists have been preparing us for.  It'll not only be a rainy-cloudy day, but the trajectory of the Sun's eclipse is from the country's Northwest region coming South through Texas.  We'll be able to watch live on...

As for that New Moon... we'll certainly be feeling the effects of that. Be aware of tidal flooding and beach erosion as we may get periods of heavy rain.  Those high tide times will be "extremely" high tides thanks to this rain event and that invisible moon.  Careful where you leave your vehicle and know what low-lying areas are that always are prone to flooding.  Remember those high tide times.  The winds will be pushing that water over the island as well tonight that's for sure. And, the back side of the island will have its high tide an hour later than the ocean side.  Today's Doo-Wop Festival in Wildwood at Fox Park has been cancelled.  Tonight's concert and all indoor events are still happening.

Lovely End To A Perfect Fall Week

Mornin'! Happy Friday the 13th!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's on her way as the beautiful sky is beginning to brighten and show shades of coral, pinks, oranges and golds.  Breezes are out of the N-NE at 10-12mph.  It'll be yet another beauty with sunny skies, temps in the upper 60s and N-NW winds at 10-12mph.  Tonight... clear, temps in the low 50s with winds light and variable.  Tomorrow... cloudy start with rain developing later in the day (afternoon).  Temps will be in the mid-upper 60s with SE winds at 10-15mph.  Saturday night... more rain and it could be heavy at times.  There's a 90% chance of rain so prepare accordingly.  Oh... this weekend's 50s-60s-70s Festival Street Fair and Classic Car show is cancelled.  Sorry to the bearer of bad news.  Sunday... rain showers in the morning with partly sunny skies by afternoon, temps in the upper 50s with North winds at 10-20mph.

More Beautiful Weather Continues

Mornin'! It's 55° in Wildwood NJ again.  We're having pretty consistent temperatures this week when Ms Sun rises.  She's about to cross the horizon by the way.  Breezes are barely there out of the W-NW at 1-3mph.  It'll be another lovely Autumn day here along the coast.  Expect plenty of sunshine, temps around 70°, with light and variable breezes.  Tonight... clear skies, temps in the low-50s and West winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... a repeat of today but with North winds at 10-15mph.  Unfortunately, Saturday and Sunday are still looking wet.  Not as intense as formerly reported for Saturday as it doesn't look like a complete washout but throughout the day and evening it will be anywhere from 25-75% chance of rain.  They're saying some rainfall could be heavy at times.  For Sunday... this rain system should be checking out by early afternoon.  I'll continue to keep watch.  For today... it's time to get out and enjoy this incredible weather.  I took a bike ride on the boards yesterday only to discover that Garfield Avenue is the start to the chain link fence closing the Boardwalk right up to Schellenger Avenue.  More of the re-construction of the boardwalk project is once again underway!

Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear except for along that horizon line as Ms Sun rises.  She should be shining any time now once she climbs over those clouds obstructing her.  She certainly making a beautiful sky as she rises.  There's hardly a breeze out of the West at 2-4mph.  We're about to have another lovely day down the Shore.  Expect a sunny hump-day with a few afternoon clouds and W-NW winds at 5-10mph.  Temps will just about tap 70°.  Tonight... partly cloudy with temps down into the low-mid 50s and light and variable breezes.  Tomorrow...  another sunny, lovely day with temps around 70° and light and variable breezes.  I guess we should talk about the weekend weather.  I'm happy to report it looks like a great homemade soup making weekend.  I'm sorry to report that it looks like another lousy, wet, windy and miserable weekend with rain heavy at times and a "new moon" on Saturday.  And, those "new" moons make the high tides react in the same way a "full" moon does.  Much higher than normal tides and the possibility of coastal flooding along with beach erosion.  I'll be watching and keeping you up on what's going on.  For today though... an Autumn beauty so get out and enjoy!

So I guess you could say we've been watered.  But, no rain today as it'll be sunny with a few clouds in the mix as temps rise to about 67°.  Winds will be out of the SW at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clear skies, temps in the mid-50s and winds light and variable.  Tomorrow... sunshine with a few clouds, temps in the upper 60s with W-NW winds at 5-10mph.

Mornin'!  Happy Columbus Day!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear with winds out of the  West at 10-15mph.  It's feeling a bit on the chilly side this morning.  It's trash pick up day and since I have a couple trees around my property and it's autumn, you guessed it... leaves everywhere that needed to be raked and swept up (2nd time this week) and added to the items in the trashcans. I should have worn a sweater for that detail.  And, being the first item of business this morning, I hadn't even poured my cup of coffee before heading to that broom and dustpan.  Thankfully, Ms Sun's up and doing what she does best... warm us up.  I'm not sure how warm it'll feel today but temps will be in the mid-60s with W-SW winds at 10-15mph.   Tonight... clouds filter in, 20% chance of showers late after 10pm, with temps in the mid-50s and SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps near 70° and West winds at 5-10mph.  Wednesday... sunny, temps near 70° and West winds at 5-10mph.  Thursday... sunny, temps in the low-70s and SW winds at 5-10mph.  What a nice week ahead of lovely autumn weather down the Shore!

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's way down at 72% with a dewpoint of 46°.  Winds are out of the West at 15-20mph and feels like 50° outside.  Ms Sun's rising and at the moment is handling some thick clouds right along the horizon and is making for one of her beautiful sunrises.  We only got a very quick, light sprinkle of rain yesterday as it turned out to be partly sunny, chilly and breezy.  We didn't even get the pavements wet with that spitting rain.  I was able to get my beach blanket washed and hung out to dry in the breezy backyard.
Today will be a lovely Autumn day with plenty of sunshine, temps in the mid-60s and West winds still very blustery at 15-25mph.  Tonight... partly clear skies with some clouds in the mix, temps where they are now... low 50s and West winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, a few afternoon clouds and temps in the mid-upper 60s with W-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... 20% chance of rain with plentiful sunshine returning Tuesday.

Columbus Day Weekend With A Little Bit Of Everything Today

Mornin'!  Happy Columbus Day Weekend!  It's 57° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 99% with a dewpoint of 65°.  We're in the soup as it's foggy as hell out there.  It's still dark, with that thick eerie fog laying heavy over the island.  Expect areas of patchy fog early.  It'll become windy in a few hours probably blowing this fog out but then there's a 50% chance of rain beginning by early afternoon.  I checked the doppler and it looks like we could possibly miss some of the afternoon rain action due to being that Cape May bubble of ours. Just know that it could rain any time this afternoon as it'll be a mostly gray day with peeks of sun every now and then.  Temps will be around 70° with these light West breezes turning into 20-30mph winds out of the W-NW.  Tonight... by around 7-8pm we should be in the clear with temps dropping to the low-50s and W-NW winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow...  Sunshine with temps in the low-60s and West winds at 15-25mph.  Monday... sunny, temps in the mid-60s and calmer winds.

Long Time Before The Dawn

Mornin'!  It's 68° in Wildwood NJ.  It's lovely.  We've got a beautiful morning dawning.  Sometimes I put on my music while blogging and today I clicked on my Crosby, Stills and Nash playlist and "Long Time Gone" came on as I was checking my North Wildwood webcam and realized that it'll be about 15 minutes before Ms Sun crosses the horizon as a couple (bundled in jackets) stood waiting for the sunrise in my webcam view.  My first thoughts were "You've got a long time... ".  15 minutes is along time waiting for the sunrise.  It appears that way as it always seems long when you're waiting.  I'm just enjoying the music and that song was perfect for the couple standing there on the beach just waiting for dawn.  I can hear the sounds of the surf crashing and the birds who all are loudly showing their happiness for a new day which makes the new day even better. 
It's lovely with barely a breeze out of the East at 2-3mph.  Humidity's 98% with a dewpoint of 64°.  It's that "dewy" kind of morning with everything outside glistening wet.  It's clear sky all around us at the moment and we'll be seeing Ms Sun this morning for sure.  The clouds will check in later this morning though as we're heading into an overcast day.  There's a 15% chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm passing through today as well.  Temps will be in the low-70s with East winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... cloudy with 35% chance of rain (more so around midnight) with temps in the low-mid 60s and light and variable winds.  Tomorrow... 50% chance of rain as it'll be a cloudy day with temps around 70° and W-NW winds at 15-25mph.  Sunday... sunny, temps in the low-mid 60s and West (stiff) winds at 10-20mph.  I did get to the beach again yesterday (4 days in a row) and it was another spectacular beach day.  My guess it was last of the real beach days this 2023 season.  By that I mean that most folk (very sparse beach visitors) had bathing suits on, we sunbathing and dipping their toes in the ocean and planned on hunkering down for the day.  Some had the works... beach cart, umbrellas, chairs, coolers etc.  You know the drill.  When it's a perfect weather, the beach is a magnet.  And, I'm so grateful for those days this week.  October came in as a beautiful gift of near perfect weather and I took full advantage of it.   Fall's on our doorstep now as it's looking like we won't see much in 70° temperatures from now on.  Beginning tomorrow... all daytime temps may just be tapping 60°.  It'll be a good weekend to bring out the sweaters.  Happy Friday!

Last Of The Beach Beauties

Mornin'!  It's 61° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 94% with a dewpoint of 59°.  Breezes are light out of the E-NE at 2-3mph.  It's clear with some areas of fog this early morn.  No fog here over the island at the moment.  Ms Sun's on her way as thanks to her the sky is painted beautifully with corals, oranges, pinks etc.  We're about to have Day 4 of incredible weather.  Expect a sunny day with temps in the low-mid 70s and East winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... some cloud cover, temps in the low-mid 60s and East winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy, peeks of sun in the morning but a mostly gray day with 20% chance of rain, temps in the low-70s and East winds at 5-10mph.  Saturday... showers in the morning with peeks of sun in the afternoon, temps barely tapping 70° and Sunday... sunny, temps tapping 60° along with stiff West winds.  Just an fyi... it's looking like another beach day today and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the last warm beach day of the year.  I went to the beach every day this week and it's been incredible.  Today will probably be my last visit (according to the weather forecast) and I'm happy and sad at the same time.  And, when I say "last visit" that doesn't mean that I won't visit the beach for brief visits or take a walk along the beach from time to time.  It just means I won't open my sand chair and sit there quietly for 4+ hours (reading or crocheting). This morning, I can hear the surf along the shore through my opened windows.  It's like its calling me.  So much to be thankful for as I anticipate this last of the Beauties today.   Where ever you are, get out and enjoy!

October's First Hump Day - It's a Beauty!

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a dewpoint of 59°.  Ms Sun's up.  Winds are barely there out of the West at 1-3mph.    Wildwood's dripping.  Everything's wet and drippy outside.  All the plants, flowers, downspouts, awnings, roofs, vehicles, railings etc... all soaked and dripping.  One thing's for sure... the tropical houseplants that are still adorning the porch have never seemed so happy.  This is the last week for them to be outdoors I think as I've begun readying their spots as they return into the house in the very near future.  Oh, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the birds this morning.  Chirping and whistling and squawking is everywhere in the neighborhood. Seems I'm not the only one happy how this hump day is dawning.
Expect a repeat of yesterday.  Yes, the loveliness and summer-like weather continues for yet another day. Blessings abound.  It'll be sunny, temps in the mid-70s with South breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clear, temps around 60° with light and variable breezes.  Tomorrow... looks like it could be the last of excellence in the weather department.  This beautiful weather will continue into tomorrow.  After that... sweater weather appears with a snap of a finger.  On Friday the clouds drift on in as it'll be partly cloudy as temps remain in the 70s.  And by Saturday the clouds will provide a rainy day with temps in the mid-upper 60s as a "soup-making" weather looks like it's on the menu.  Sunday... Ms Sun's back but temps won't get any higher than 60° and add to that the W-NW winds at 15-20mph.  It's looking like a very Autumn-like, chilly, breezy Sunday.

Another Beach Day

Mornin'!  It's 59°  in Wildwood NJ.  It's still dark but clear as Ms Sun's on her way over the horizon.  Humidity's high at 93% but the dewpoint's only 56°.  Winds are out of the North at 1-3mph.  It'll be a repeat of yesterday with beautiful weather.  Expect a lovely, sunny day with temps in the low-mid 70s and S-SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clear, temps where they are now... 59° with light and variable winds.  Tomorrow... more of the same!  The Phillies (2nd in the National League) begin their Wild Card Series today playing the Miami Marlins.  Good Luck to my home team!

Mornin'!  It's 61°  in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and beginning to brighten things up.  Winds are out of the North at 8-10mph.  Humidity dropped to 88% with a dewpoint of 60°.  It'll be a lovely, mild day down the Shore with plentiful sunshine, temps in the mid-70s and NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps in the upper 50s and East winds around 5mph.  Tomorrow... a bit warmer with plenty of sunshine, temps in the upper 70s and West winds at 5mph by the afternoon.  Tomorrow night... clear with temps in the low-60s.  Wednesday... sunny with temps in the upper 70s, SE winds light at 3-5mph.  Thursday... more of the same.  Friday... more of the same.  If you picked this week for a coastal getaway in Wildwood... you've hit the jackpot!  Enjoy these summer-like days this first week of October (unlike the last weeks of September).  Oh... and the traffic lights are back to flashing again!

Welcome October - It's Coming In Perfectly!

Mornin'!  Welcome October!  It's 60° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 94% with a dewpoint of 59°.  It's cloudy and gray with breezes out of the North at 8-10mph.  These morning clouds will begin to dissipate in a couple of hours as it'll be a lovely sunny day with temps in the low to mid 70s and N-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clear skies, temps where they are now (60°) and North winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... more sunshine, temps in the low-70s and NE winds at 10-15mph.  Wednesday... another sunny day, temps in the low-70s and light SE breezes.  Thursday... partly sunny, temps near the 70° mark with light breezes.  October's coming in easy with very nice Autumn weather and plenty of sunshine.  This times last year we were dealing with the remnants of hurricane Ian this first weekend in October.  It created havoc along our coast as well as cancelled the Italian Fest, Race of the Gentlemen, The Surf fishing tournament and the WWCrest City-Wide Yard sale.  The Italian Fest was held yesterday (in partly sunny skies) along with the Monster Trucks on the Beach and the WWCrest Surf fishing tournament. Oh, and that big city-wide yard sale in the Crest is next Saturday (Oct 7th) this year.  The Race of the Gentlemen... well that is looking like next October 2024 but that's not confirmed.  One thing that is confirmed... today's weather.  It'll be splendid!  Get out and enjoy!
