Sparkling Hump Day!

Mornin'!  It's 72° in Wildwood NJ.  It's still dark as Ms Sun won't be getting up for almost another half hour.  At the moment, we've got cloud cover (no stars to note this morning).  We got breezes too...N-NW at a nice clip...13-18mph.  It's a lovely morning.  It'll be a nice warm one today.  Ms Sun will mix with some clouds as the temp climbs up into the mid-upper 80s.  Breezes will remain out of the N-NW (pack insect repellent) and by tonight shift from the W-SW at 5-10mph.  Temps will drop back into the mid-upper 70s as the sky stays clear.  We're looking pretty good for "Roar to the Shore" Biker Weekend up ahead...there's a couple slight possibilities of rain and so far it's looking like overnight events...Thursday night into Friday and again on the overnight Saturday night.  Otherwise...the weekend's looking so far...so good!
High tide:12:52p.m.
Low tide:6:36p.m.
Ocean temp:77°
Sunset:7:20p.m.
UV Index:7-8 (high)
Rip Currents: Moderate - Anyone entering the surf should be very aware of these intense currents...also lifeguards are sporadic and mainly guard on weekends so keep watch for any beach patrol as you might want to check with them before heading into the drink.
As the island's once again empty and quiet (the roar is coming this weekend though) again, it takes a bit of getting used to. As I travel to the office each morning throughout the summer I see the seasonal crowded intensity of cars parked in every nook and cranny particularly on this one street I traverse. Well, yesterday morning...not one vehicle was parked on this street! It actually made me gasp. Amazing what happens here after Labor Day.
But hey... the weather is what's important this time of year...near perfect for the next month or so (aside from Tropical storms or Hurricanes) as we call this time "Our Jewel". Oh...check out a new webcam (great one too)...under my personal favs...North Wildwood Webcam has set it's camera atop the Matador Motel on the north end of the island.
