Mornin'! It's 67° in Wildwood NJ. It's mostly sunny and breezy! There are some clouds up there but Ms Sun's winning out this morning. We're still hunkered down and ready for this mysterious Hermine to get finished with us. Yesterday turned into an okay day with just some very windy conditions and hardly a drop of rain and no tidal flooding in the streets. We even had some peeks of sunshine in the afternoon. I did retrieve my vehicle and took a ride around and it appeared that the beaches were closed yet some surfers couldn't be swayed. It seems like lots of folks stayed around by the looks of those curious like myself. The focus is on today...Ms Hermine is much further off our coast (thankfully) and she doesn't appear to want to stall out there and create any major problems for us now. We should expect winds (N-NE 20-30mph with 40+mph gusts) with some cloud cover and a 30% chance of showers today. Temps...mid-upper 70s. Tonight...mostly clear and windy (North 25-35mph and more gusting) with rain showers (40% chance), with temps in the upper 60s. Tomorrow...more of those intense winds with sunshine and temps tapping 80°. With all this said, there will still be beach erosion with the winds and dangerous surf but the heavy rains and tidal flooding are not supposed to take over the barrier islands like what was projected. I'm keeping my eye on the tides though just in case those high tide times bring the sea into the streets...not likely but for the next 24-48 hours (Monday late morning high tide should be the worst)...keep vigilant. Looks like the Wildwoods made it out of the Woods!
