Tuesday Mix and the Start of the "Jewel"

Mornin'!  It's 71° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under clear, starlit skies.  We've got hefty NW winds at 20-30mph (the opposite direction of what we've been having).  Looks like a windy one today with a mix of clouds and sun.  Temps will get up into the low 80s as the winds stay checked in all day and night. By this evening, the clouds will take over while the winds switch from the N-NW (25-35mph) bringing the possibility of some much needed rain showers (50% chance) with temps headed back into the low 70s / upper 60s.  Ms Hermine only left beach erosion in her wake...no rain or street flooding.
High tide:12:08p.m.
Low tide:5:51p.m.
Ocean temp: 77°
Sunset:7:23p.m.
UV Index: 7 (on the high side)
Rip Currents: "Red" still posted (dangerous surf conditions) and anyone entering the surf must take the warnings very seriously.  As for guarded beaches, I'm sure there will be patrolling on the beaches but you won't see much in the line of lifeguards after Labor Day.
This is officially the beginning of the jewel season as everyone's packed up and gone home as the island's empty and quiet again. The weather should be near perfect for the next month or so as we call this time "the Jewel". Oh...I've added a new webcam (great one too)...under my personal favs...North Wildwood Webcam!
