Hazy, Hot And Humid Continues On This Last Of July

Mornin'!  It's 77° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a dewpoint of 75°.  The breeze is barely there out of the S-SW at 6mph.  We're still in the midst of hazy, hot and humid.  They're saying there's a possibility of rain for today... 60% chance.  Expect a sunny start with clouds filtering in by this afternoon as it'll become partly cloudy with showers and/or thunderstorms on the weather menu (probably late afternoon / early evening).  Temps will be in the low-90s (heat index of 100°) with South stiff breezes at 10-20mph.  Tonight... 75% chance of rain giving way to cloudy skies around midnight.  Temps will drop into the low-mid 70s with N-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy, becoming very windy, temps in the mid-upper 70s and N-NE winds at 20-30mph.  This weekend's looking good.  Saturday... sunny, temps in the upper 70s/low 80s and NE breezes at 10-15mph.  Sunday... sunny, temps in the low-md 80s and E-NE winds at 10-15mph.  So July, you've been a very hot one this year and we're no worse for wear from all that sweating.  Until we meet again next year... see ya on the other side!

More Hazy, Hot and Humid Weather

Mornin'!  It's 79° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's over the hazy horizon.  The sky is clear.  The humidity's still up there at 94% with a dewpoint of 75°.  There's barely a breeze out of the W-SW at 4mph.  Strap in as we're about to have another day like yesterday... hazy, hot and humid.  We got up to 96° yesterday here in Wildwood.  Yesterday's breezes were W-SW.  Today they'll be out of the S-SW.   Even being at the beach trying to stay cool was quite warm as all the air was hot wafting from the broiled sand over our sweaty bodies.  For today, it'll be sunny and forecasters are saying 91° today but I'm betting much higher than that much like yesterday (probably mid-upper 90s will be more like it).  I'm sure the heat index (what it will feel like) will be up there big time.  Humidity will drop (upper 70s / low 80s) as the day progresses but the dewpoint will still be in the 70s making the air sticky.  Breezes like I said will be out of the S-SW at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clear to partly cloudy, temps in the mid-70s and S-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy with a chance (50% chance) of afternoon showers and /or thunderstorms, temps in the mid-upper 80s and South winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... 60% chance of scattered showers and/or thunderstorms, temps in the mid-70s and East winds at 10-15mph.  Friday... 40% chance of rain showers in the morning with scattered rain showers in the afternoon, temps in the upper 70s with N-NE winds at 15-25mph. Friday night... cloudy, temps in the low-70s and N-NE winds at 15-25mph.  As for this weekend... Saturday... mostly sunny, temps around 80° and breezy with NE winds at 15-25mph.  Sunday... same as Saturday but not as windy.  If heading the beach... you know the drill.  Pack plenty of water to stay hydrated, wear footwear, sunblock, hat, umbrella and a sand screw and bungee to hold that umbrella in place. Oh, the flies were biting yesterday so remember the insect repellent just in case those pesky greenhead flies are headed toward beach-goers today.

Another Blistering Day

Mornin'!  It's 79° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 91% with a dewpoint of 74°.  Breezes are barely there out of the W-NW at 2mph.  Ms Sun's up and heating things up through the very hazy sky.  The air is warm and heavy already and I can only imagine how hot it will be again today.  Yesterday we saw 95° (with even higher heat index) with barely a breeze coming from the NW.  It was a scorcher.  Today... looks like a repeat of yesterday with plenty of sunshine, temps around 90° and W-SW breezes at 5-10mph.   Tonight... clear skies, temps in the upper 70s and SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps near 90° (may even be higher) with S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... clear, temps near 80° and S-SW winds at 10-15mph.  We could see rain showers by Thursday evening (40% chance).   Prepare safely if heading to the beach... plenty of water, footwear, a sombrero or the likes, umbrella of some sort, sunscreen, ideally a chair to sit by the water, a good book and an ice Popsicle would be just the ticket!

Monday's Scorcher

Mornin'!  It's 78° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 92% with a dewpoint of 76° and very light winds out of the North at 2-4mph.  It's sunny as Ms Sun's up and over the horizon and beginning today's firing up. We're having a sunny Monday up ahead. Today's temps will be in the upper 80s (possibly low 90s) and will feel closer to 100° with the heat index. Breezes will be out of the W-NW at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clear, muggy, temps in the mid-70s and S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny, temps in the upper 80s and SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... clear, temps in the mid-70s and SW winds at 5-10mph.  Wednesday... sunny, temps in the mid-upper 80s and S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Next possibility of rain is Thursday... 50% chance, temps will be in the mid-80s with S-SW winds and a mostly cloudy day.  Friday... 60% chance of rain.  I'm not a fan of reporting the weather too far out.  Don't place your bets on anything as Thursday and Friday's weather could change.  If heading to the beach today, take precautions... footwear, plenty of water to drink, hat, covering of some sort (rashguard, cover-up, umbrella, canopy etc).  Oh... a good book too.  Have fun!

Unsettled Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 75° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a dewpoint of 74°.  It's raining lightly with breezes out of the South at 4-6mph.  I'm not sure when the rain began but it appears like we've received a decent watering while sleeping and also that it could be finished any time now.  They're saying to expect scattered rain showers and even thunderstorms today (50% chance) with gusty winds.  Right now, the sky at the back of the island seems to be clearing out some with blue skies peeking through along the horizon.  There's still thick cloud cover on the beach side as this system moves out to sea.  It's currently cloudy and gray but much brighter than when I first sat down to collect my weather stuff.  Today's temps will be in the low-mid 80s with South winds ramping up a bit at 10-15mph.  Remember to keep your eye on the sky later today (after 2pm) as that's when we're more than likely to see the rain clouds roll in again. Tonight... muggy, 60% chance of rain with partly to mostly cloudy skies, and scattered rain showers and/or thunderstorms, temps in the mid-70s and West winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps near 90° with E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... clear, temps near 80° with South winds at 5-10mph.

No need to water the gardens today as we got a good watering last night.  The thunderstorms put on quite a strobe light and tumultuous "very wet" show.  Expect a mix of sun and clouds today with temps in the low-mid 80s and E-NE winds will ramp up at 10-20mph.  Pack a bungee for that umbrella today.  Tonight... partly clear with clouds in the mix, 20% chance of rain, temps in the low-70s and SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... 25% chance of rain with a partly sunny / partly cloudy Sunday.  Temps will be in the low-mid 80s and South winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow night... 60% chance of rain, partly cloudy overnight, temps in the low-70s and West winds at 5-10mph.

And those... Friday's Beach Tips and Beach Etiquette Techniques: for what it's worth as so much of my observation or my recommendations on how to have a pleasant beach day is not followed or given an ounce of thought. There's beach etiquette and beach smarts happening around me but not much.  On a regular basis, occasional beach-goers, visitors and vacationers never cease to amaze me as they haven't got a clue how to make a pleasant, smart and more importantly, a considerate beach day happen.
*Beach Stuff - what to pack... bottled water, a spray bottle of water for you never know what, a hat, footwear, towel, sunblock, insect repellent, first aid kit (I include a tiny bottle of vinegar for jelly fish stings), shade (umbrella, canopy of some type), a bungee cord to secure your umbrella for those windy days, something to read, sanitizing wipes, a small trash bag to collect any trash you accumulate.
*When setting up your spot (campsite) at the beach, give those around you a little courtesy and be kind as to not to set up too close to them.  It's always amazing to watch arriving folk completely unaware of their actions as they begin setting up their umbrella, blanket and chair only inches away from those folks already settled in and believe it or not, there's no one else yet at the beach except you. It often feels like new arrivals seek out others to sit close to.  It happens more often than not and I have yet to figure out this strange phenomenon.  There's an enormous amount of beach space for everybody (that is... in Wildwood Crest where I go).
*Know your "tide" times.  You can always ask the lifeguard as they will know.  If the tide is at its highest when you arrive, you can set up right at the water line. It takes 6 hours for the tide to go from High to Low and then turn around and begin to go from Low to High (12 hour total).
*Know your wind direction... if a "West" wind is on the forecast, you can count on the biting greenhead flies as they catch the Westerly "land" breezes and then come looking for you.  Always remember to pack that insect repellent along with sunscreen.
*Tips for setting up your umbrella:  it's about that "wind direction" along with wind speed.  On a windy day, take those extra steps to secure your umbrella.  Umbrellas should be secured at least a foot into the beach sand.  Sand screws or sand grabbers are great for securing umbrellas and even better if you dig a hole first before twisting that screw in and then packing it with sand.  Also, a bungee cord attached to the umbrella then to your cooler or beach cart works wonders. It's not uncommon to see umbrellas launched by the winds and more often than not into unknowing folks who are about to be impaled by an airborne, out of control umbrella. And, while the entire family is in the ocean not realizing that their umbrella is 2 blocks away.  Remember, when opening your umbrella... face into the wind. More often than not for some reason, folks turn their back on the wind and open the umbrella. Thus... you now have an inside out, out of control umbrella along with those gusts of wind on your hands.
*Beach Etiquette.  Wildwood has soft, powdery sand. When you walk directly next to someone who's enjoying their beach visit, your kicked-up sand will almost certainly be tossed all over them; especially if it's breezy.  Be conscientious of where you're walking. Teach your children these same courtesies at the beach. Explain that it's not okay to run or chase one another around someone else's blanket or chair. On a breezy day, you will be covered in a light coating of sand thanks to wind but even more so due to some of those thoughtless beach folk. Oh, the same goes for that Suntan lotion... when you use the "spray" sunscreen, be aware of where that spray your using is being directed by the wind and who's receiving full coverage other than yourself.
*If shaking out towels or blankets, be conscious of that wind direction and always shake away from those sitting nearby.
*Suggestion for those with babies or toddlers...  bring a "pack-n-play" for them as I can assure you that your beach day will inevitably more enjoyable with those babes in their little mesh, private encampment as they're able to play, eat and sleep while you enjoy your day.
*Phone use... take it somewhere else. Talking loudly or working on your phone for all of us to share with you really sucks.  Phone calls should be taken as far away from the people relaxing on the beach as possible.  Go to the Dunes.  Trust me, no one wants to hear your conversation; especially "on speaker".
*There is "no smoking" of any type on the beach.  There's "no smoking" on the boardwalk.  New Jersey has legalized Marijuana and you can smoke it privately on your property but not openly in public.  The only Pot dispensaries are in North Cape May and West Cape May and none in Wildwood.  Wildwood has yet to approve any selling of Pot.
*For the pooches, there are two dog parks right on the beach.  At 24th at the Beach in North Wildwood and one in Wildwood between Glenwood and Maple on the Beach.  The Glenwood Avenue dog beach has just been rated #1 dog park in the country! Dogs must always be on a leash when not in the dog parks. And, you can walk your dog on the beach when lifeguards are NOT at their posts and only then.  No dog walking on the boardwalk at all.
*If you enjoy music on the beach... remember to pack your headphones.  Believe it or not, the majority of beach folk would much rather listen to the sounds of the surf; not your choice of music blasting next to them from your Bluetooth speakers.  Sorry... but it's something that happens all the time and it sucks.
*Feeding seagulls is a no-no.  Eat and snack smartly.  Using flailing hands when expressing oneself while holding lunch is a magnet for swooping gulls.  Drop just one potato chip and you'll have seagull havoc.  Eat conscientiously under your umbrella or chair canopy.  Seagulls are vultures and are smart and endlessly eyeing beach goers eating habits.  They're relentless in trying to find the opportune moment to swoop down and pluck lunch right out of your hand or mouth (seen it happen many times). They watch and wait and know.  By the way, seagulls know "chip bags" and if you have an unsupervised beach bag with chip bags exposed, they'll think nothing of helping themselves to that bag and will share their newly acquired bag of potato chips with all the other gulls while you're in the ocean taking a dip.
*Playing ball, Frisbee, horseshoes, corn hole, kite-flying, ladder toss, spike ball, paddle ball, volley ball, Kan-jam, beach darts etc. shouldn't be played by the people sitting nearby.  Play ball and games at the back of the beach away from where everyone is sitting (it's only common sense and respectful).
*Observe all posted signs and warnings... Beach closures due to weather, rip currents or storms, surfing only on "surfing" beaches, no alcohol or pot, no dogs or pets.  If in doubt, just ask the lifeguards.
*Never leave trash on the beach.  Better yet, pick up any that you may see whether it's yours or not.  There are many, many trash and recycle containers on the beach and surrounding areas.  You might as well use them rather than let all that trash drift off and fly into the ocean for the fish to eat or get tangled in. Remember... whatever the fish eat, we eat too.  Plastic is an epidemic.  Speaking of plastic... New Jersey no longer has plastic bags at stores and shops.  It's now all about bringing your own (preferably reusable) bags when you shop to save the planet from those "fly-away" plastic ones.
*Lastly, be courteous and respectful.  Courtesy is key.  Be kind and considerate of all those enjoying this beautiful moment at the beach along with you. Teach your children how to do it. Keep the profanity at home, the music low and give everyone space.  It's a lot of fun being at the beach.  Let's enjoy together. Happy Beaching!

New Moon Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 73° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's low at 73% with a dewpoint of 64°.  Ms Sun's up and shining in the deep blue, cloud-free sky and winds at barely there out of the SW at 2-3mph.  It'll be another beauty today with temps in the low-80s and South winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... clear skies, temps in the low-70s and S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... the heat is back loads of sunshine, temps near 90°, and SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow night... partly clear, temps in the mid-70s and NW winds at 5-10mph.  Saturday... a mix of sun and clouds, temps in the low-80s and NE winds at 10-15mph.  Saturday night... partly cloudy, 40% chance of a few rain showers developing late, temps in the low-70s and E-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Sunday... starting out cloudy becoming partly sunny, temps in the low-80s and S-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Sunday night... 60% chance of rain showers and/or thunderstorms, temps in the mid-70s and W-SW winds at 10-15mph. It's the "New Moon" today.  All that means is the moon is invisible and it's creating the higher and lower than normal tides much like the Full moon does.  You might notice that the back bays and marshes are flooded with high tide waters.  If you're in that area... take precautions when driving or parking your vehicle.  Know your low-lying areas on the island!  Oh... also keep in mind that the back of the island (bay/marsh) always has high tide an hour later than the ocean side of the island.

Beautiful Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday...

Mornin'!  It's 76° in Wildwood NJ.  The humidity's dropped significantly at 68% with a dewpoint of 66°.  It feels very pleasant outside especially after last week's high humidity levels.  Winds are out of the North at 4-8mph and it's mostly cloudy with Ms Sun shining down every now and then.  It seems we're being surrounding by cloud cover both at the front (ocean side) and back (bay side) of the island.  However, the clouds are scattered and every now and then my house glows with brilliant sunlight.  I'm sure both all my plants (both inside and outside) are loving it.  We're going to have a mix of sun and clouds today with temps in the low-80s and NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps around 70° and N-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the upper 70s and E-NE winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... clear, temps in the low-70s and Easterly winds at 5-10mph.  By the looks of things, the rest of the week's weather ahead will be similar to today.  At least until Saturday.  Good time to be vacationing in Wildwood!

A Very Warm Sunday Down The Shore

This Morning's Webcam Shot - North WW
Mornin'!  It's 75° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 96% with a dewpoint of 74°.  Winds are out of the W-SW at 5-8mph and Ms Sun has risen but once again is trying to break through the cloud cover along the beach.  She's certainly making the sky look beautiful this lovely summers' morn.  It'll be partly to mostly cloudy this morning with peeks of sunshine all throughout the day.  There's even a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm this morning (20% chance) as well as this afternoon. Keep your eye on the sky (or doppler) for those storm clouds today. It'll be a warm one today with temps in the low-90s as the heat index will be 100°.  Light SW breezes are on tap at 3-6mph which will ramp up a bit later at 10-15mph.   Tonight... partly cloudy, temps in the low-70s and NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny despite some afternoon clouds, temps in the low-80s and N-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday look like a repeat of Monday.  All in all... if you've picked this week for your vacation in Wildwood, you have a really good "weather" week up ahead.

Unsettled Saturday

Cape May - Lighthouse in the distance
Mornin'!  It's 76° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 89% with a dew point of 71°.  By the way, a comfortable dew point is generally considered to be in the range of 50° to 60°.  That's when most people find the air to feel pleasant and dry.  Anything above 60° begins to feel sticky, warm and humid as well as uncomfortable and oppressive.  Today's dew points will be in the mid-70s.  It's gray outside with plenty of gray, thick cloud cover as Ms Sun is trying her best to shine through it all.  It's not likely going to happen as there's a 75% chance of rain throughout the morning as this cloud cover thickens even more.  According to this morning's doppler... 8am, 10am and 12pm look like we could have storm clouds filtering in and landing right on us.  Then, more scattered rain with possible thunderstorms this afternoon.  Just a reminder, we are in that Cape May "Bubble" so anything's possible as we could miraculously stay clear of those rain events today.  Temps will hover around 80° today with SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... cloudy, 25% chance of rain, temps in the mid-70s and South winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... a mix of sun and clouds, temps int he upper 80s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  There's a very slight chance of rain and/or thunderstorm tomorrow (15% chance).  Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, temps n the mid--70s and NW winds at 5-10mph.

There's plenty of beach space for everybody.
*Know your "tide" times.  You can always ask the lifeguard as they will know.  If the tide is at its highest when you arrive, you can set up right at the water line and watch the beach grow bigger and bigger as the tide recedes into its 6 hour low tide. It takes 6 hours for the tide to go from High to Low and then turn around and begin to go from Low to High (12 hour total).  Know your wind direction... if a "West" wind is on the forecast, you can count on the biting greenhead flies as they catch the Westerly "land" breezes and then come looking for you.  Always remember to pack that insect repellent along with sunscreen.
*Tips for setting up your umbrella: be aware of the wind direction and wind speed.  On a windy day, take those extra steps to secure your umbrella.  Umbrellas should be secured at least a foot into the beach sand.  Sand screws or sand grabbers are great for securing umbrellas and even better if you dig a hole first before twisting that screw in and then packing it with sand.  Also, a bungee cord attaching the umbrella to your cooler or beach cart works wonders. Thus... you now have an inside out umbrella along with those gusts of wind on your hands.
*If shaking out towels or blankets, be conscious of the wind direction and always shake away from those in the line of your "sand" fire. Toddlers do take off running and it's usually onto anyone's blanket in their path.  Here's a bit of advice for parents of toddlers on the beach (1-2 year olds)... bring a "pack-n-play" for them as I can assure you that your beach day will be much more enjoyable with those babes surrounded with toys and snacks in their little mesh, private encampment.  I recently saw a young couple of a baby not old enough to walk, dig a round trench about 6" deep and place a piece of plastic (much like a shower curtain) over the 2-3' wide hole and fill it with the ocean water so the babe could be entertained and cooled off in their own little pool.  It was an ingenious way to keep the baby happy for a good amount of time.
Sorry... but it's something that happens a lot and it sucks.
By the way, seagulls know "chip bags" and if you have an unsupervised beach bag with chip bags exposed, they'll think nothing of helping themselves to that bag and will share their newly acquired bag of potato chips with all the other gulls while you're in the ocean without a clue.
It's now all about bringing your reusable bags when you shop to save the planet from those "fly-away" plastic ones.
*Lastly, be courteous and respectful.  Courtesy is key.  Be kind and considerate of all those enjoying this beautiful moment at the beach along with you. Keep the profanity at home.  It's a lot of fun being at the beach.  Let's enjoy together. Happy Beaching!

Mornin'!  It's 75° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 96% with a dewpoint of 73°.  Winds are barely there out of the West at 2-3mph.  It's cloudy and gray.  All the various weather forecasts I've checked for Wildwood have their own take on what kind of weather that's happening today.  I'd say to keep your eye on the sky today as some say 60% chance of rain while others say 15% chance of rain.  One thing seems to be unanimous... it'll be a partly to mostly sunny with clouds in the mix.  Temps in the mid-80s and SW winds becoming South at 5-10mph.  It seems that most said the rains will come later today into tonight.  As for tonight... partly cloudy, 30% chance of rain, temps in the mid-70s and SW winds at 5-10mph.  Oh, we had lightning and thunder late last night but received not a drop of rain.  All the weather reports this morning stated that there was torrential rains and flooding all around us.  For tomorrow...partly cloudy early, scattered thunderstorms developing in the afternoon, temps  in the mid-80s and S-SW winds at 10-20mph. Unsettled "Full Moon" Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 74° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 96% with a dewpoint of 73°.  Winds are out of the SW at 5-7mph.  It's gray and damp.  Ms Sun's up there somewhere but the clouds have control of what's happening in the sky.  We've been watered again with some major rain downpours and storms beginning late last night into the overnight.  I'd say we're rather soggy this morning.  Lot's of thunder and strobe lightning last night.  It's the Full Moon today aka The Buck Moon.  It's called that because the antlers of male deer (bucks) are in full-growth mode at this time as they shed and regrow their antlers each year producing larger and more impressive antlers as each year comes and goes. If we're lucky, we could see that moon rise tonight around 8:45PM.
For today, it'll be a mostly cloudy day with scattered rain and thunderstorms. Chance of rain today is 60%.  This afternoon those thunder-boomers are on tap with some storms containing intense gusty winds.  Temps will be around 80° with very humid conditions and SW winds at 5-15mph.   Tonight... still mostly cloudy and humid, 25% chance of rain and even a stray thunderstorm is possible.  Temps will drop to where they are now... low-mid 70s and S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy start becoming partly cloudy with peeks of sunshine. There's a slight chance (15%) of a stray shower, temps around 80° with E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, humid, temps in the mid-upper 70s and East winds at 5-10mph.  Saturday... partly sunny, temps in the low-80s and E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Saturday night... partly cloudy, temps in the mid-70s and East winds at 5-10mph.  Sunday... sunny with a few clouds in the mix, temps in the low-mid 80s and East winds at 10-15mph.  Sunday night... clear, temps in the mid-70s and SE winds at 5-10mph.

And, of course... Friday's Beach Tips...
Thus... you now have an inside out umbrella along with those gusts of wind on your hands.
Sorry... but it's something that happens a lot and it sucks.
By the way, seagulls know "chip bags" and if you have an unsupervised beach bag with chip bags exposed, they'll think nothing of helping themselves to that bag and will share their newly acquired bag of potato chips with all the other gulls while you're in the ocean without a clue.

A Beauty Today Kicking Off A Lovely Holiday Weekend

Mornin'!  It's 71° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 96% with a dewpoint of 71°.  We've got clear skies this morning as Ms Sun is only a few minutes away from rising over the ocean.  Winds are barely there out of the West at 2-4mph.  It's quiet.  It's the quiet and calm before the chaos.  The streets are already packed to the gills.  No parking anywhere in sight.  Our neighbor just had their porta-potty delivered yesterday afternoon.  That's never a good sign.
Expect abundant sunshine today with temps in the mid-upper 80s and West winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... a slight possibility of a stray shower (20% chance), temps where they are now (low-70s) and NW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny,  temps around 80° and NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... clear, temps around 70° with S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Saturday... except for a few afternoon clouds, mainly sunny, temps around 80° and South winds at 10-15mph.  Saturday night... partly clear, temps around 70° and South winds at 10-15mph.  Sunday... sunny, temps around 80° with South winds at 10-20mph.  Sunday night... clear, temps in the mid-70s and South winds at 10-20mph.  Some advice for today... pack the insect repellent if going to the beach due to those West Winds carrying the biting green-head flies.  You need to be one step ahead of those buggers. Also, remember sunscreen lotion, plenty of water, and footwear for that very hot sand.  Oh... pack your patience as there are a lot of people all doing the same thing this weekend (other than ordering a porta-potty for your front yard).  Stay safe out there.

Today's Webcam Shot - 5th Ave Boat Ramp - NW
Mornin'!  It's 74° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a dewpoint of 72°.  It's raining lightly.  We had some rain last night, some minor street flooding due to the torrents, not to mention some big thunder-boomers.  Let's put it this way... we've been watered.  Looks like some of that weather is still  over the coast as there's 100% chance of rain and storms this morning becoming mostly cloudy by mid-day.  Temps won't rise too much and will hover around 77° today with light breezes out of the W-NW at 5-10mph.  Chance of rain this morning is 100%.   This afternoon will be cloudy with peeks of sun by later this afternoon.  Tonight... partly cloudy, temps in the low70s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... Ms Sun returns with mainly sunny skies, temps in the low-mid80s and W-NW winds switching to W-SW at 10-15mph.  Friday... sunny, temps around 80° with NE winds at 5-10mph.  Friday night... clear, temps in the low70s and S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  At this time, Saturday and Sunday both look good... sunny days, temps in the upper 70s / low 80s.  Sunday looks like an extra breezy day.  It all remains to be seen and I'm sure we'll all be watching.
