Little Christmas

Webcam photo today.  Mornin'! It's 39° in Wildwood NJ.  No breezes to note again.  No windchill.  And, still cloudy out there.  There's still ice on the Harbor (Otten's Harbor that is).  It'll be a much warmer day than we've been having as of late. Expect a cloudy day with temps rising into the mid-40s and S-SE breezes at 5-10mph. Tonight... still cloudy becoming partly clear around midnight.  Temps will stay in the 40s (low-40s) with SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... it's the day to take down the outdoor decs as it'll be sunny and bright with temps around 50° and W-NW at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... partly clear, temps in the upper 30s and NW winds at 5-10mph.  It'll remain mild and dry until Friday afternoon  when rain is due in.  It'll stay raining Saturday and the early part of Sunday. It's the twelfth day of Christmas. Or, so called Little Christmas, The Epiphany, and also known as Three Kings' Day celebrating the manifestation of Jesus and his baptism (aka... Theophany) in Eastern Christianity.  It also marks the end of the Christmas season but the start of Mardi Gras "Carnival" Season which concludes on February 17th on Fat Tuesday (the eve of Lent). To celebrate Three Kings' Day, King Cakes are being baked and eaten beginning today commemorating the Three Kings (Magi) who brought gifts to Jesus on this day.  The oval / circular shape of the cake represents the unity of faiths and journey of the kings.  The hidden baby figurine inside the cake symbolizes baby Jesus. Finding it means luck and prosperity.  The colors of the cake represent Gold: Power; Green: Faith and Purple: Justice.  Oh, and today is also our first President George Washington's wedding anniversary to Martha in 1759.  And, lest not forget today's the day (5 years ago on January 6th) we watched in horror as rioters and insurrectionists smashed through barricades and ransacked the US Capitol hoping to destroy the Constitution with an incited violent and deadly mob attack and assault.
