Mornin'! Happy Earth Day! Founded in 1970 by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson following a massive oil spill. Our planet is an amazing place and always needing our help to thrive! Each year on this date, more than a billion people celebrate the Earth in some way and do what they can to protect our planet from things like pollution and deforestation. By taking part in activities (which should be done on a daily basis not just once a year) such as not throwing or leaving trash thoughtlessly, picking up litter even when it's not yours (especially here on the island as trash and plastics inevitably get blown into the ocean and marsh and as the fish consume our trash and plastics, we consume the fish), plant trees, recycle, keep from impulsively allowing water to run, turning off lights etc. The lights left on is sore spot for me. It's amazing the number of residents who only come to their homes here just weekends and off and on during the summer and leave their outdoor (and some indoor) lights on throughout the entire year. Why??? It's disgraceful. Not only are their outdoor lights shining into my home, there's no star-gazing as the sky is no longer clearly visible at night or how about saving electric with all their lighting carelessly left on. Let's all try to be more conscientious and keep our world a more thoughtful, happier, healthier place.
On to the weather... it's 50° in Wildwood NJ. It's partly cloudy as Ms Sun's up and trying to shine through the some of that morning cloud cover. Winds are out of the South at 10-15mph. It'll be a partly to mostly cloudy day today. It'll start out mostly sunny becoming cloudy later this morning, then by late afternoon, the sunshine is back. Temps will be in the low-mid 60s with S-SW winds at 10-20mph. There's a 25% chance of rain sometime before noon. Tonight... clear, moonlit skies, temps around 50° and light and variable winds. Tomorrow... partly sunny and turning warmer. Temps will be in the mid-upper 60s with North winds shifting from the SW at 10-15mph. Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, temps in the low-50s and NW winds at 5-10mph. Friday... mix of sun and clouds, temps in the upper 50s and East winds at 10-15mph. Friday night... temps in the mid-upper 40s with 25% chance of rain. Saturday... 70% chance of rain along with windy conditions (East 20-30mph), temps in the mid-50s. Saturday night... 75% chance of rain, temps in the mid-40s and still blustery. Sunday... 65% chance of rain kicking off the day, temps in the low-50s and NE winds at 15-25mph. Sunday night... 20% chance of rain, temps in the upper 40s.
