Gusty Friday

Mornin'! Tropical Storm warnings are in effect this Friday. WW missed the bullet from Hurricane Earl today. Earl (now a Category II hurricane) is heading out to sea as I type and the Atlantic coast will be spared this time around. However, there's still a storm right outside our front door and it will be creating a bit of havoc today. It's currently 75 degrees in WW with 100% humidity. Warm and humid outside this morning with just a light breeze blowing across the island. Temps will rise into the mid-upper 80's with a 70% chance of rain starting sometime later this morning. The bulk of rain will be offshore. Winds will be increasing as daybreak occurs and we're expecting gusts of 45mph so prepare accordingly and batten down the hatches. Those winds will more than likely keep our beaches closed today. Rough seas and high waves (10-12') are predicted. High tide:3:29p.m.; Low tide:9:02a.m.; Ocean temp:80 degrees. I'd call this a beach day only to observe Earl as he bids us adieu. It's nice to be typing that! Oh...the Holiday weekend...I'm calling it a very nice one. Skies will be blue, sun will be shining, temps will be cooler, and the ocean will still be on the rough side. I'll see you on the beach!
