Mornin'! It's 51° in balmy Wildwood NJ. Houston, we have meltdown! No more snow here in Wildwood! The enormous plowed snow forts are still here in parking lots, street corners etc. and will probably be here until March. But, due to yesterday's warmish winter temps and fog and mist and occasional drizzle, Mother Nature provided a beautiful consistent, slow meltdown. We never had the heavy rainfall, flooding or winds that the mainland or Philly got. It's currently cloudy with howling N-NW winds at 28-35mph. It should be partly sunny as temps begin to drop significantly for today's 1:00p.m. Polar Plunge in Wildwood. It's held at the Convention Center at the beach. By then, the temps will barely be tapping 30° with NW winds at 20-25mph as the Crazy Folk stand barefoot on the beach and run into the 35° drink. Even with Ms Sun trying to break through and shine, I'm not so sure how much we'll see of her or how much warmth she'd be providing an almost naked, shivering body. It is something to witness and quite unbelievable if you've never been on the beach watching a polar plunge in person before. My mind is always blown away by this event. It's brutally cold for the bundled up spectators! The weather later this afternoon / early evening will have the clouds checked out bringing clear skies and winds from the W-NW at 25-35mph and much colder temps...28-30°. Tonight...clear and cold (upper 20s) with N-NW breezes at 18-20mph. Tomorrow...winter's not going anywhere but there will be plenty sunshine. Temps will be in the 20s and the Northwind still blowing.
