Winter Storm Warning and Wind Chill Advisory Posted for today. Happy Presidents Day!
Mornin'! It's 8° in Wildwood. Yep...8°. It's still windy so it feels like -11°. It's brutal is what it is. Everyone you talk with says they're moving to Florida. That happens every February but I do know people that are actually preparing to move away from this weather climate. For now, I'm staying put and counting the days...32 until Spring and 124 until Summer. So, we're gearing up for our next February storm. Let's begin with today...Happy President's day! I'm off from work today as Ms Sun's rising in the backdrop. She'll be up in about a ½ hour or so. There are some thin clouds in the mix but my bet is on Ms Sun this morning. All bets are off this afternoon as those relentless clouds will eventually take over. Winds are sticking around...W-NW at 15-25mph as temps rise up to the upper teens and possibly even tapping the low 20s. Now, let's talk about tonight...100% chance of precipitation. And, we're not talking about rain showers. Nope... we're talking another Nor'easter "Coastal" Snow Storm!!! It'll start snowing this evening and continue to snow all night long into tomorrow afternoon. I keep hearing up to 8 inches as this next storm should be out of here by tomorrow afternoon sometime. More snow showers are due in Wednesday to add salt to the wound. Oh, just bring so we can't get this over with and move on. Well...not literally move on like some folks I know who won't be sharing any of this with me next year. High tide:5:48p.m. Low tide:11:32a.m. Ocean temp:37° Sunset:5:38p.m.
A daily weather forecast of Wildwood, New Jersey. I'm a lover of the weather and more importantly the sea, sand, tides, sunrises, sunsets and moon charts. I've discovered since living here on the island (2004) how different our weather is than the mainland. Or, better yet, the Philadelphia area where I was born and raised. Lucky for me my family spent just about every summer vacationing in Wildwood. I did the same while raising my own children. I'm blessed to have been able to call it home as being "down the shore" full time is pretty amazing. People always ask, "How bad is it in the Winter?" You know what they say... "If you're lucky enough to live by the beach, you're lucky enough." As for this weather thing... I will never get used to the fact that when there's a snowstorm in Philly, it could be a misty/rainy, almost mild Winters' day in Wildwood or if there's a Nor'easter bringing Wildwood to its knees, it could be a cloudy, windy day in Philly. These towns are less than two hours apart. Since my Philly family and friends always assume that I'm having the same weather as the big city, I began blogging about Wildwood NJs weather to keep the record straight.
