A few things to keep in mind as the island's still in the midst of a heat wave. If going to the beach...some must haves...footwear as the sand's unbelievably scolding hot and you will burn your feet without it; an umbrella or sand chair with a cover for shade as you'll have to take a break from the sun's rays and heat and take shady cover at some point; water...take and drink plenty of water to the beach...I include a spray bottle of water which helps provide refreshing relief especially when you skin feels dried out from the salty ocean and baking sun; and of course sunblock...and re-apply throughout the day as it's "dip in the ocean" time and it couldn't get any more refreshing but water-proof or not...reapplying sunblock is crucial to avoid sunburn; oh, and those West winds bring the biting green head flies and they were biting big time this weekend so pack the insect repellent!
Happy Beaching!

Love your blog! Found it very helpful when we were at the shore this week :)
And now I know why those flies were so awful Monday afternoon
