First Day of Spring (But Not If March or Winter Has Anything To Do About It)

Winter Storm Jonas - January 2016
Mornin'!  Happy Spring!  It's 41° in Wildwood NJ.  We're currently under cloud cover with an Easterly breeze at 15-20mph.  It feels cold, damp and raw out there this early morn.  You can literally feel heavy dampness in the cold air.  We've got 2 storms converging with our coast in its sights.  We also have some Hazardous Weather Conditions posted..."hazardous weather outlook", "wind advisory", "coastal flood warning", "winter storm warning" but remember it's Spring!  So, it appears that we're about to get some nasty, stormy weather beginning later today and starting out as rain with heavy winds.  Temps will be in the low-mid 30s.  The winds will be picking up big time (a little later this morning (E-NE at 30mph sustained w/gusting) as the rain begins falling.  By early evening, the winds will continue to be intense with the rain changing to a wintry mix. By tomorrow...the snowstorm, part of this bad boy will begin.  I'm seeing that we'll see snowfall tomorrow morning into very late Wednesday / early Thursday morning.  We could get anywhere from 4-10" of the white stuff before all is said and done.  One forecast did report that it could be a mostly rain event with some snowfall (2-4") tomorrow.  Moderate coastal flooding concerns will be posted throughout.  One thing's for certain...we're in for some major cold, wind-driven wet stuff whether it be rain or snow or a mix or whatever.  Wide-spread power outages are also in the forecasts I'm researching so have a backup plan (candles, generator, batteries, shovels, ice/coolers etc. at the ready).  As I'm blogging, I'm thinking maybe moving the vehicle to higher ground is wise.  I'll always remember winter storm Jonas which provided us a massive winter snowstorm with heavy snowfall then major flooding which in my opinion was as scary and right up there with hurricane Sandy.  Be safe out there!  92 days until Summer!
