We Made It Through Another One!

Mornin'!  It's 37° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and gray and windy (N-NW 25-30mph). We have power! March has been snarling, growling and gnawing at our coast for over a day now and it's only 2 days old.  We shouldn't have left our canvas awnings up over this winter as the winds feasted on them during this Nor'easter. They're pretty much destroyed.  We still have power though after losing it yesterday afternoon briefly.  We experienced no major flooding. We still have a roof and fencing around our property.  I did see that Collier's Liquor Store's entire roof blew off, the eroded beaches were pummeled with rough seas, the former Wildwood Crest beach library lost its north brick wall and who knows what else.  Personally...a lot to be grateful for.  It'll be a mostly gray (peeks of sun which seems to be trying to shine a little this morning), blustery day with temps in the mid-40s, winds howling out of the N-NW at 25-30mph.  We may see snow flurries this morning and rain showers today but for the most part, it'll be a partly gray / partly clear, blustery day.  Tonight...mostly cloudy (some clearing) with temps in the upper 30s, and winds remaining out of the N-NW at 19-22mph.  Tomorrow...peeks of sun but the March winds aren't going anywhere.  What else is new? 28 days and it's outta here!
High tide:8:47a.m. and 9:18p.m.
Low tide:2:54p.m.
Ocean temp:40°
Sunset:5:56p.m.

So glad you made it thru the storm with no major personal damage. I am sure all who read your column feel the same, we were very concerned.

you know how much I love that sky, but I also know what it means there at the coast. Glad it's passed by with only crinkles in your awnings.
