Mornin'! It's 41° in Wildwood NJ. It's overcast, damp and misty with breezes out of the NW at 5-7mph. Humidity's 93%. It's very wet outside. Expect plenty of cloud cover and dampness early this morning followed by partial clearing. We'll probably see peeks of sun and begin drying out by later this morning with much clearer skies by late afternoon / early evening. Temps will be in the 50° range. Winds will pick up out of the West at 10-15mph. Tonight... partly cloudy with temps dropping to the mid-upper 40s and West winds at 10-20mph making it feel like the 30s. Tomorrow... sunny and clear and windy (W-NW at 18-22mph). As this decade fades away today... I know it's controversial as to when a decade begins and ends but my take is that this decade we're in at the moment ends tonight at midnight. Not in 2020. A new beginning, a new year and a new decade begins tomorrow and I'm sticking to it! Happy New Decade! Happy New Year! See ya on the other side!

New Year's Eve Eve
Mornin'! It's 52° in Wildwood NJ. We've got foggy, wet, drippy conditions. It's amazingly mild with breezes out of the S-SW at 10-20mph. Expect a cloudy day with occasional showers this afternoon. Thunder is possible too. Winds will be out of the S-SW at 15-25mph. Chance of rain in 60%. Tonight... mostly cloudy, low 40s, winds light, and variable. There's a 20% chance of rain showers. Ms Sun begins peeking through again tomorrow as both New Year's Eve and New Year's day look good with no rain, no major winds. The temps will begin dropping into more seasonable temperatures (30s and 40s) again.

Tonight... more rain is in the forecast (90% chance) with even stiffer S-SE winds at 10-20mph and temps in the mid-40s. Tomorrow... rain in the morning as this weather system clears out of here sometime tomorrow afternoon. Temps will be even more unseasonable as they are possibly heading to the 60s!

Tonight... mostly cloudy with temps in the low-40s and N-NE breezes at 1-2mph. Tomorrow... cloudy with 80% chance of rain beginning in the afternoon (3-4ish). Temps will remain mild (tapping 50°).

Mostly Cloudy Day
Mornin'! It's 46° in Wildwood NJ. We're under heavy cloud cover but it's bright as Ms Sun's trying her best to break through it. The sounds of the surf crashing can be heard 6+ blocks away. Breezes at the moment are very light out of the S-SW at 4-6mph. Expect a mostly cloudy day with peeks of sunshine. Temps will get into the low-50s as SW breezes stay checked in at 5-8mph. Tonight... still cloudy with temps in the mid-40s and light W-SW breezes at 5-7mph. Tomorrow... more of the same but with much more sunshine peeking through. Sunday... back to being mostly cloudy with rain showers checking in at night. All three days will have mild temperatures (upper 40s/low 50s)!

Boxing Day
Mornin'! It's 33° in Wildwood NJ. It's still dark and starlit as we're under clear skies. No moon to speak of as it's the "New Moon" today. No breezes to speak of as well. It's crisp and cold with frost on everything. Once again that aroma of the briny marsh hits the olfactory nerve the second you walk outside. It's that "shore smell" that we all love. Believe it or not, I know of some who aren't a fan of that lovely fragrance. Anyway... I can hear the surf crashing onto the shore again this morning and that's without cloud cover! It'll be much like yesterday with mostly sunny conditions (some milky clouds in the mix) and temps near 50°. Breezes will commence later this morning out of the NE at 4-8mph. Tonight... mostly cloudy, the mid-40s and E-NE breezes at 3-6mph. It looks like we've lucked out and going to continue with some decent weather for a couple more days. Early afternoon on Sunday may bring rain showers along with those mild temps. But, today's another "winter" keeper for sure. Great Britain is celebrating a national holiday today... Boxing Day!

Merry Christmas!
Mornin'! Merry Christmas! It's 33° in Wildwood NJ. It's dark and quiet with only stars above twinkling and the sound of the ocean's waves pounding the beach in the far off distance. It's fragrant with the aroma of the briny sea and salt in the crisp, frosty air. It looks like Jack Frost was working right along with Santa during the night! There's a layer of white frost on everything outside this morning. Expect a mostly sunny day with a mix of sun and clouds as temps move into the upper 40s. Ms Sun's about to cross over the horizon as I type. Breezes will be light and variable first out of the NE then to the E-SE at 2-4mph. Tonight... mostly clear with temps in the upper 30s / low 40s and winds out of the SE at 2-4mph. Tomorrow... just about the same forecast as today. Oh... the New Moon is tomorrow so the Tides will be much higher than normal. Be aware of any tidal flooding that may seep onto the island's streets. Watch where you park and don't drive through salty flood water.

Mornin'! It's 27° in Wildwood NJ. It's still with no breezes to note. It's clear with lovely, colorful sunrise clouds in the sky. Ms Sun's about to rise and shine at any moment. Expect a sunny first half of the day with some afternoon clouds filtering in. Temps will be around 45° with W-SW winds at 5-10mph. Tonight... a few clouds above with W-SW winds light and variable and temps around the low-mid 30s. Tomorrow... more of the same. It'll be mostly sunny, blustery and brisk today with temps tapping 40° and breezes out of the W-NW at 20-25 mph. It'll feel the the 20s. Tonight... partly cloudy, temps in the 20s with 20-25mph NW winds making it feel like the teens. Tomorrow... sunny, blustery and very cold. Keep The Rain Gear Handy
holiday evening in Cape May NJ |
Mornin'! It's 47° in Wildwood NJ. We're under very heavy cloud cover with misty conditions. Everything's dripping wet. Breezes are barely there out of the South at 2-4mph. You can hear the sound of the waves crashing the shore in the far off distance (6+ blocks away). Otherwise, it's quiet and still. Expect rain showers early and more steady rain this afternoon (90% chance). We may even hear the rumble of thunder. Temps will be in the low-mid 50s as the winds become blustery out of the SW at 10-20mph+gusting. Tonight... showers early (40% chance), then partly cloudy overnight. Temps will drop in the low-mid 30s. Winds will increase out of the NW at 15-25mph +gusting. Tomorrow... kicking off with Ms Sun followed by clouds and winds (20-30mph) in the afternoon with temps near 40°. It'll feel like the low-20s tomorrow night! 4 days until the Solstice!

Showers Check Out and Winds Check In
Mornin'! It's 53° in Wildwood NJ. It's feeling a bit ominous at the moment out there. It's still dark. It's dripping wet, heavy fog with mist is over the island right now. Rain is heading right this way. For me, it's a scary feeling. Like Jack the Ripper's in the neighborhood instead of Santa. The island's very desolate this time of year. The weekend picks up a bit but for the most part, there are only about 16,000 year-round residents. There aren't any lights glowing from the majority of dark, uninhabited homes here. There are few vehicles parked on the streets. Traffic lights are on the "blink" setting. It truly does have that ominous feel at times even without these low lying clouds we're experiencing at the moment. I'm intrigued by it all. The salt (no matter what) feeds the soul.
Anyway... the early morning's starting out chilly and damp; it goes right through you. Winds are out of the S-SW at 6-9mph. There's 90% chance of rain this morning and afternoon. We'll be hearing the fog bells as there are areas of dense fog being reported. Temps will be just about where they are now... low-50s. Winds will begin to pick up today as they blow this thing out up North as well as out to sea. By tonight... just cloudy, temps in the low-40s and stiff winds out of the West at 18-22mph +gusting. Tomorrow... mostly sunny (some clouds in the mix) with very windy conditions... out of the West at 20-30mph +gusting. Monday... the rains check back in.

Great Weather For Being Indoors
Mornin'! It's 46° in Wildwood NJ. It's cloudy with a light, fragrant (briny) breeze out of the E-SE at 9-11mph. I can hear the ocean waves crashing in the early darkness from 6+ blocks away. Thick cloud cover does that while insulating the island making the ocean's presence known. It almost sounds like a highway nearby full of rush hour traffic (which no doubt is happening in the big city). There is no highway here.
Expect a crapola day with rain showers early evolving into a steady rain by the afternoon. Scratch that... forget the "crapola" as it's a perfect day for cookie baking, gift wrapping, Christmas decorating, card writing, homemade soup prep, curled up with a good book or movie and perhaps a nap. Anything you can think of that's inside looking out. On the other hand, going to the seawall and watching the ocean displaying its angry side (perhaps even at High Tide) is always fun and adventurous. Prepare accordingly for that (raingear).
While raining today, temps will be in the low-50s with Easterly winds at 10-15mph. The chance of on and off rain is 70% today. Tonight... more rain (100% chance) with temps hovering right around 50° and E-SE winds at 10-15mph. Since the moon was full yesterday and heavy rainfall is possible later as well as tonight, we could experience a bit of tidal flooding. Be aware of the high tides and flooded low-lying areas and don't drive through floodwaters (it's damaging saltwater). Tomorrow... off and on rain showers through to the late afternoon as the winds will pick up tomorrow evening. Sunday... mostly clear and very windy feeling much colder than the projected mid-40s. 8 days until the Winter Solstice!

First Snow Of The Season
Mornin'! It's 33° in Wildwood NJ. It's snowing! We're in the midst of a wintry mix. The streets and sidewalks are wet but the lawns, grass, trees and vehicles etc. are covered with a nice coating of the white stuff (½ inch or so)! No doubt it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. We have some breezes out of the NW at 12-18mph making it feel like 28°. A far cry from yesterday's high of 65°. It'll be a wet morning with a mix of snow and rain. Things should begin to clear out later this morning becoming partly cloudy today along with peeks of Ms Sun happening later too. Temps will barely be tapping 40° with a wind chill of 32°. Winds will be out of the W-NW at 10-15mph. Tonight... clear, 34° and feeling like 25° with those NW winds at 10-15mph. Tomorrow... begins with the moon becoming full just after midnight, then a cold, clear day (temps in the low 30s / feeling like the 20s). Friday and Saturday look warmer (low-50s) but rainy. Sunday... we're back to dry, cold and breezy. 10 Days until Winter!

Unseasonably Mild But Rainy Day
Sunset Lake - Wildwood Crest NJ |
Tomorrow... we may see the "white stuff" when we wake. We're supposed to have a 100% chance of 1-3" with W-NW winds at 10-20mph tomorrow. By midday, it supposed to clear on out of here but leave us with much colder air (windchill of 28°) as well as at least a coating of the "S" word. It all remains to be seen. Perfect Day for Indoor Stuff
Mornin'! It's 52° in Wildwood NJ. It's raining at a decent clip with winds out of the South at 9-11mph. It started raining overnight and will continue to do so off and on until overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Just in time for the Full Moon as it's rising over the ocean's horizon (5:13PM-Thursday) on Thursday evening. We're in a wet stretch for sure. Expect rain today (90% chance)... light, heavy, misty and foggy conditions at various times of the day. Temps will be mild in the mid-50s and with the S-SW winds at 15-25mph +gusting and I'm sure it'll feel nasty outside this start to the week. Tonight... more rain (70% chance) with temps in the low-50s and S-SW winds at 15-25mph. Tomorrow... a repeat of today. The Full Moon is in 3 days so expect much higher than normal tides as tidal flooding has been reported for the island. Don't drive through tidewaters. Beginning tonight... the George Redding Bridge (the Rio Grande Ave. Bridge attaching Wildwood to the outside world) will be closed from 12/9-12/11 from 8PM to 6AM for those 3 nights. There's a huge sewer project being completed at the intersection at Susquehanna and Rio Grande Aves as the other option for traversing on and off the island will be North Wildwood's bridge (causeway).

TGIF
Mornin'! It's 33° in Wildwood NJ. It's clear with not a cloud in the sky. It's calm with hardly a breeze. It's crisp and cold with frost on the dune grasses and the fragrance of the sea in the cold morning air. Ms Sun's on her way in about half an hour. Unfortunately, clouds will be rolling in a little later this morning as it'll be a partly cloudy day with peeks of sun. Breezes will commence a little later this morning as well as it'll be a blustery day with winds out of the S-SW at 15-25mph +gusting. Temps will get up into the low-50s (it'll feel like the low-mid 40s) with the windchill. Tonight... partly cloudy with some clearing (20% chance of a shower), temps in the low 40s and winds out of the W-NW at 10-15mph. Tomorrow... mostly sunny, not as breezy with a high of 40° and Sunday... mostly cloudy and temps in the mid-upper 40s. 15 days until the Winter Solstice! There's not one but two Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies tonight. North Wildwood's is at the Hereford Lighthouse Gazebo at 4:30-6:30 and Wildwood's is at the Convention Center at 6:30-8:30.
Oh... here's some other island news... The George Redding Bridge (the Rio Grande Ave. Bridge attaching Wildwood to the outside world) will be closed from 12/9-12/11 from 8PM to 6AM for those 3 days. There's a huge sewer project being completed at the intersection at Susquehanna and Rio Grande Aves as the other option for traversing on and off the island will be North Wildwood's bridge (causeway). Gloomy Monday
Mornin'! Happy Birthday to my son today this one's for you! It's 39° in Wildwood NJ. Even with the thermometer showing 39°, it feels like 31° with the NW winds at 12-16mph. We've got a raw windchill this morning as the clouds have completely covered the island this morning. There's a 40% chance of rain showers this morning with overcast skies in the afternoon. We might (pretty big "might") see breaks of clouds and peeks of sun by mid-day. Those NW winds are here for a while though... at least until Wednesday morning. Expect NW winds at 15-25mph +gusting today as temps rise up only a couple degrees but still feeling in the low-30s with that windchill. Tonight... 50% chance of rain with temps in the mid-30s and NW winds at 10-20mph. Tomorrow... partly cloudy and very windy (NW 20-30mph +gusting). It's a hunker down and turkey soup kind of day! Oh, and here's hoping that the Winter Storm the philly and suburb areas are getting as I type isn't as bad as the newsmakers are reporting. While I sit along the coast with just gray skies, the big City and their surrounding areas are getting pummeled with a winter storm (rain, sleet and snow)... 1"-4" inches of the white stuff expected with schools closed today! Thankfully, not here.

Mornin'! It's 36° in Wildwood NJ. We're under partly cloudy skies with very light breezes out of the North at 4-7mph. Happy Thanksgiving!
Mornin'! Happy Thanksgiving! So many things to be thankful for as we celebrate gratitude and blessings today. All my "sides" are ready for the Feast today. I made coleslaw, mashed turnips, sauteed brussel sprouts, baked sweet potato casserole and homemade peach pie (which I tried my best to replicate old Groff's (in Wildwood) infamous peach pie). We're transporting the goods as we head to Philly (with stretch pants on) to spend the holiday with family.
It's 49° in Wildwood NJ. It feels like 39° with the wind chill. The W-NW winds are currently howling at 25-30mph +gusting. And, they're not going to get any better today as they get even stronger this afternoon. It'll feel cold with a partly cloudy / partly sunny day as temps just about tap 50° with an upper 30° wind chill. Winds will be out of the NW at 25-35mph +gusting. Tonight... clear, a bit calmer with winds out of the N-NW at 15-25mph +gusts and temps in the low-40s (feeling like low-30s). Tomorrow... mostly sunny, temps in the low-40s and a little blustery (nothing like today). The weekend's still looking 50-50 with Saturday much like tomorrow and Sunday... still looking wet.

Thanksgiving Eve - Travel Day For Some
Mornin'! It's 51° in Wildwood NJ. It's cloudy and calm (breezes out of the South at 2-3mph). This travel day will have a 20% chance of rain later this morning and again after mid-day. The sky should clear later this afternoon with peeks of sun and temps in the mid-50s. Expect winds to increase big time as the skies clear... S-SW at 20-30mph +gusting. Tonight... clear and windy with temps in the mid-40s with West winds at 20-30mph +gusting. I'll be spending today home making the "sides" for the Feast tomorrow up the road. Thanksgiving Day is looking mostly sunny, with temps tapping 50° and those West winds at 25-30mph +gusting. Black Friday looks sunny and bright as does Saturday. Sunday... not so much.

Loveliness Continues
Mornin'! It's 49° in Wildwood NJ. It's bright and sunny with hardly a breeze (SW 2-4mph). It'll be another beautiful autumn day with temps in the low-mid 50s and Southerly breezes at 6-8mph. I got to take a nice long walk and a boardwalk bike ride yesterday, as it was such a pretty day out there much like it will be today. Tonight... clear with temps in the low-50s with S-SW breezes at 3-6mph. Tomorrow... a great day for beginning the food prep as the cloud cover returns bringing rain showers in the morning with peeks of sun late in the afternoon. Thursday looks mostly sunny and very windy with seasonable temps (upper 40s). It's the "New Moon" today so the tides will appear much higher and lower than normal. For the sake of the undercarriage of your vehicle, don't drive through any tidal waters that seep onto the island!

Lovely Fall Monday
Mornin'! It's 38° in Wildwood NJ. Ms Sun's up and shining brightly. Breezes are light out of the W-NW at 4-6mph. And, it's a crisp, briny morning. You can smell the sea the minute you step outside. It'll be a day with plentiful sunshine, temps tapping 50° and breezes out of the S-SW at 5-7mph. Tonight... clear, temps in the mid-upper 40s and S-SW breezes at 4-6mph. A perfect Autumn day and night in my opinion!
