It's Moist Happening Weekend

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  We're in the soup this morning as the island's thick with fog.  It's quiet except for the ocean waves crashing 6+ blocks away and of course the island birds awakening (they're what woke me).  I've got the porch window next to me opened about 3 inches and the morning damp air seeping in is actually lovely.  I'm sipping coffee while blogging and the homemade coffee cake is baking in the oven.  It's all seems to fit for this damp, misty, chilly morning.   Today's weather will be a mix.  Expect fog this morning.  It'll be a cloudy day without much in the line of sun peeking through.  There's a 40% chance of scattered rain showers and/or thunderstorms developing this afternoon.  Temps will get in the mid-upper 60s with SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... more cloudiness with 80% chance of rain.  Temps will head back to where they are now (mid-50s) and breezes out of the E-NE at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow looks like a mostly rainy (crapola) day (90% chance).  It's the New Moon today which means much higher tides.  We had a pretty good saturation of torrential rain on Thursday night and nowhere near being dried out. No doubt we're going to see rain this weekend and with that said... keep in mind that the streets will probably flood thanks to those tides.  Don't drive through flood waters and if you're in a low-lying area... watch where you park your vehicles.  Just be cognizant.
There are lots of things going on this weekend plus there are a lot of visitors here.  I noticed the streets and driveways filling up yesterday and last evening.  Morey's is having a new event... Morey's Wildwoodstock Spring Festival which is enticing folks here. https://www.moreyspiers.com/event/wildwoodstock  Late last evening when I stood in the dark quietness on my back porch, I could hear the chain pulling up the roller coaster cars and the screams of the riders in the far off distance as everyone was enjoying the amusement pier action. It seems it's the official start to another summer season. I even checked the local live webcams and there was a nice crowd enjoying the town. Thankfully, the weather was holding out for everyone as the fog covered the island keeping things cool and misty.  I've had the awesome experience once riding the roller coaster in the fog and it's really neat.  Oh, and today is the big annual Wildwood Crest Yard Sale.  The entire borough opens their yards, driveways, and garages to display and sell their trash (another one's treasure).  It's one of my favorites.  And it's the Kentucky Derby which means the bars and pubs will be packed with revelers.  It's a pretty big kickoff weekend for the Wildwoods!  Unfortunately, the weather will be "iffy".  Just keep your rain gear nearby and you might want to keep the "wellies" close at hand as well!
