Hazy and Cloudy Tuesday

Rip Current

Mornin'!  It's 77° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 84% with a 72° dewpoint.  Ms Sun is shining through the hazy (somewhat cloudy) sky.  Winds are out of the N-NW at 4-6mph.  We'll be having this hazy sunshine this morning as cloud increase today becoming mostly cloudy today.  Temps will be in the mid-80s with East winds eventually becoming Southerly at 5-10mph.  Tonight... mostly cloudy early in the evening becoming clear overnight.  Temps will be in the low-70s with West winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny and hot with temps near 90° and West winds at 5-10mph.  Keep that insect repellent handy.
Oh... let's talk rip currents as they are especially dangerous and creating alot of news as of late.  Three people have died over this holiday weekend in various towns along our eastern coasts due to the rip currents.  Last night's news reported many (dangerous and scary) rescues all along our coasts (at least 10 rescues from North Jersey, 13 just in Ocean City continuing all the way down to Sea Isle) happened while the beaches were crowded and being guarded.  Many of our beaches are not being guarded now as it's considered "off season".  Swim only on guarded beaches and be extremely careful if swimming.  Don't swim against the current that's pulling you out to sea.  If you wait (as calmly as possible) until it releases its grip and then swim out of its grasp in the direction parallel to the shoreline, you can then gain control again and begin swimming or floating with a wave back to shore.
