| Delaware Bay - The Sunken Ship |
Mornin'! It's 23° in Wildwood NJ. It's feeling more like 16° with the light winds out of the North at 4-6mph. It's clear with some hazy clouds. It's cold with frost on all the surfaces outside. It's the calm before the storm. Starting tomorrow there will be some "warnings" posted for this weekend. First up will be the "Extreme Cold Warning" due to the low temps and high winds. The other naturally is "High Wind Warning" bringing the dangerous wind chills. And still another is "Heavy Freeze Spray" warning that is directed mainly to mariners and those in vessels in coastal waters of the Atlantic and Delaware Bay.
It'll be a partly sunny day with a mix of clouds and sunshine, becoming mostly cloudy this afternoon, temps in the low-30s and NW winds at 5-10mph. Tonight... 40% chance of snow showers / flurries becoming less late this evening, temps in the low-20s and W-NW winds at increasing from 5-10mph to 20-30mph. Snowfall amounts are barely an inch. Tomorrow... mostly cloudy and very windy along with snow showers and flurries, no accumulation expected, temps in the mid-upper 20s and NW winds at 25-40mph +gusting creating a windchill of below zero temperatures. Tomorrow night... clear and very windy, temps around 10° feeling like -7° due to the NW winds at 25-35mph +gusting to 50mph. Sunday... mostly sunny and very windy. Temps will be in the low-20s with NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting making it feel like 5° to -2°. Sunday night... clear skies, temps around 12° with N-NW winds at 15-25mph +gusting making the windchills in the -2°. Take this incredibly cold spell very seriously. If you must go out, dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves. Exposed skin could easily and quickly be subject to frostbite. Oh, and by the way, it was 16 years ago today that "Snowmagdeon" hit Wildwood. Kept me in the dark without heat for 6 days.

Hang in there -this week high 40's, then mid 50's,
then may touch high of 69, then back to 'normal'
average highs in rural MO. Unusual for you to
be colder than here.
