Martin Luther King Day

Mornin'!  It's 37° in Wildwood.  We're having some cloud cover along with starry skies.  It's breezy with lots of dampness lingering from yesterday's rain event.  We had some major thunder and lightening last night during some of that rainy weather.  The pooch was sticking to us like glue.  There's a "severe weather watch" posted this morning due to icy conditions.  It posts that the combination of air temperatures near freezing, residual surface moisture and a cold ground is resulting in black ice on untreated surfaces. Some vehicle accidents were reported earlier. If you need to drive this morning, be very cautious and slow down as Road conditions can change quickly. If the surface still looks wet, assume it is icy. Be extra careful on bridges and other elevated surfaces as they tend to be colder. In addition, parking lots and sidewalks will be icy if not treated. Just saying especially after hearing and seeing yesterday's icy highways and roads fiasco with accidents and deaths related to the ice storm and icy conditions back in my former hometown. Today will be mostly sunny with temps in the low 40s while gusty winds will be out of the W-NW at 23-29mph.  Tonight...back into the low 40s with clear skies and winds out of the West at 16-24mph. Tomorrow looks like a repeat of today!  Happy Martin Luther King Day!  "Selma's" playing at the Frank Theater in Rio Grande.
