Mornin'! It's 38° in Wildwood. It's crazy outside. It's overcast with dark, ominous, fast-moving clouds. It's windy as hell (N-NE 25-30mph) making it very noisy as the howling winds are all around the island and house. It's raining lightly. It's flooded. My backyard says it's been raining all night as there are quite a few sections of my backyard (stones/pebbles as I have no lawn; just stones) flooded and under water. It'll be gray and rainy until tonight as a steady rain is on the forecast for today. Temps will stay just about where they are now. And winds...well...they're going to ramp up even more by late this afternoon/early evening (N-NW with some gusting). Tomorrow...Ms Sun's supposed to return along with a mix of clouds and sun at least up until tomorrow evening's snow showers. I'm hunkering down this weekend for sure. High tide: 10:50a.m. Low tide: 4:48p.m. Ocean temp: 39° Sunset: 5:13p.m. Spring: 56 days
A daily weather forecast of Wildwood, New Jersey. I'm a lover of the weather and more importantly the sea, sand, tides, sunrises, sunsets and moon charts. I've discovered since living here on the island (2004) how different our weather is than the mainland. Or, better yet, the Philadelphia area where I was born and raised. Lucky for me my family spent just about every summer vacationing in Wildwood. I did the same while raising my own children. I'm blessed to have been able to call it home as being "down the shore" full time is pretty amazing. People always ask, "How bad is it in the Winter?" You know what they say... "If you're lucky enough to live by the beach, you're lucky enough." As for this weather thing... I will never get used to the fact that when there's a snowstorm in Philly, it could be a misty/rainy, almost mild Winters' day in Wildwood or if there's a Nor'easter bringing Wildwood to its knees, it could be a cloudy, windy day in Philly. These towns are less than two hours apart. Since my Philly family and friends always assume that I'm having the same weather as the big city, I began blogging about Wildwood NJs weather to keep the record straight.
