Day After Labor Day and The Summer Fun Continues

Mornin'!  It's 78° in Wildwood NJ.  It's hazy, warm and humid with no breezes to note.  Humidity's 93% with a Dewpoint of 76°.  It'll be hazy, hot and humid today as we continue to heat up in this next heatwave.  Temps will tap 90° and may even be in the low 90s as we plug along in the hot soup. The heat index (what it'll feel like) will be 100°.  It'll be mostly sunny (hazy) with some clouds in the mix.  Very light breezes will begin later this morning / early afternoon out of the W-SW at 5-7mph.  Tonight...clear with temps in the upper 70s, still humid (93%) and breezes out of the S-SW at 4-6mph.  There's a slight (15%) chance of a passing thunderstorm throughout the day but I'd say tomorrow is more likely as this heat and humid continues to build up.  There are still plenty of folks hanging around today this day after "the season".  It'll be a perfect beach day actually (keep the insect repellent nearby though with those "westerly" breezes) as those who remained here on the island have a lovely tropical day down the Shore.
High tide:3:31p.m.
Low tide:9:03a.m.
Ocean temp:77°
Sunset:7:28p.m.
UV Index: 8-9 (high)
Rip Currents: Low risk
The beaches will have limited lifeguard services now that Labor Day is over.  Here are some of the schedules...
The Wildwood Beach Patrol will be guarded throughout 9/4-9/9 at the following streets: Hildreth to Hand, Andrew to Baker, Garfield to Lincoln and Pine to Poplar.  All beaches are guarded on the upcoming weekends. There will no longer be beach patrols on duty after 9/11.  Call 911 in the event of an emergency.  It's not wise to swim when the beaches are not guarded.
The North Wildwood Beach Patrol has limited coverage after Labor Day with 5th, 10th, 15th, 18th and 22nd Avenues only having guarded beaches.  Ocean and Surf Avenues will NOT have any lifeguards or be protected.  A response team will be available for emergency calls on the weekends 9/15 and 9/22 (609-522-7500).
The Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol will have lifeguards on Buttercup-Lavender, Rosemary-ForgetMeNot, Stockton-Stanton, Toldedo-Denver and Trenton-Neward Avenues.  Lifeguard coverage concludes on 9/9/18. Response teams will be available on the weekends of 9/15 and 9/22 by calling 609-522-3825.
All beach patrols urge everyone to swim only near lifeguards, never alone, never a night.
