Mornin'! It's 57° in Wildwood NJ. It's gray and blustery. We have a blow out of the S-SE at 20-25mph +gusting. We're under thick ominous cloud cover as the sound of the ocean crashing the shore is loud and clear from 6+blocks away. The birds are much quieter this morning as the winds are roaring around the island. It's going to be windy throughout the day (High Wind Warnings are posted through to this evening) and night with rain developing this afternoon. There's still potential for heavy rainfall. Temps will tap 60° as chance of rain is 90% with SE winds at 25-35mph +gusting. Tonight... 100% chance of steady rainfall with showers continuing overnight. Rainfall could reach an inch. Temps will drop into the low-mid 50s with S-SE winds at 25-35mph +gusting but will decrease by bedtime to 10-20mph. Tomorrow... 40% chance of rain showers with thunder possible and not as windy as today. Saturday looks sunny and mild with less windy conditions and Sunday... partly sunny. Not sure what next year's April will bring but I hope and pray it doesn't come near what this April has been like. Like... 300 days long. I realize April showers brings May Flowers but I can only imagine what May will really bring to Wildwood this year. Pray it's not COVID-19. God bless us all!

Another Gray One
Mornin'! It's 45° in Wildwood NJ. It's gray and misty as everything's saturated from the rains yesterday and last night. Winds are out of the NW at 10-13mph. Once again, it seems to be perfect weather for the birds as the island's filled with chirping, singing and sqwaking birds this morning. It's nice to see and hear they're out and about and enjoying the Shore. It looks like yesterday's weather is back. It wasn't the complete washout as forecasted... mostly and raw misty day but no consistent rainfall either. According to my sources, today will be gray again with 20% chance of rain. Temps will get into the low-mid 50s with N-NW winds ramping up a bit at 10-20mph + gusting. Tonight... mostly clear with some passing clouds as temps drop into the low-mid 40s. N-NW winds will fairly light at (by March standards) 10-15mph. Tomorrow... more sun than cloud cover with temps in the upper 50s. That sunshine will feel fabulous... enjoy as the clouds and rain return Wednesday.

Dismal Weather
Mornin'! It's 51° in rainy Wildwood NJ. The birds seem to love it out there! It's been raining since last evening and will continue to do so throughout the day and evening. Expect rain today (90% chance) with temps in the low-60s as SE winds blow over the island at 10-20mph. Tonight... 50% chance of rain with a rumble or two of thunder possible especially towards evening; low near 45° with N-NW winds at 10-15mph. Tomorrow... 50% chance of more rain with not much clearing as it'll be a gray start to the week with temps in the low-50s and 15-25mph winds. I'm telling you, this weather matches the mood around here as of late. There is a small light at the end of the weather tunnel... on Tuesday but the rest of the week is looking somewhat bleak as we're in for some gray skies and some more rainfall.

Wet Start This Weekend
Mornin'! It's 51° in Wildwood NJ. It's raining lightly with NW breezes at 2-4mph. Those overnight gusty winds have taken an intermission thankfully. I'm seriously over the intense leftover March winds this month. My house was-a-rockin' last night! Looks like it'll be wet this morning with 60% chance of rain showers as drier air moves in this afternoon with (you guessed it) lots more of those gusty breezes. Expect temps in the mid-50s with NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting. Tonight... mostly clear, low 42° and NW winds at 10-20mph. Tomorrow... sunshine with gusty winds and cloud cover developing in the afternoon (S-SW at 20-30mph) with temps in the mid-50s.

Mostly Sunny, Breezy Thursday
Mornin'! It's 47° in Wildwood NJ. Breezes are out of the West at 10-15mph. It's clear with a handful of clouds thrown in. Not enough to block my view from seeing Mars, Saturn and Jupiter around the Moon this early morn thanks to my daughter's reminder. It was at 5:22am, in view from my house in the dark, pre-dawn sky and quite a sight to see. Thankfully those handful of clouds were on the west side of the island covering those stars in the sky. So grateful to have seen that. It'll be a mix of clouds and sun today and high near 50°. Winds will be stiff out of the W-NW at 15-25mph. Tonight... clear, upper 30s and NW winds wifting (wafting) over the island at 15-25mph. Tomorrow... more of the same with rain and windier conditions by the evening. Saturday's 60% chance of a washout and Sunday... looking mostly sunny with rain return at night.

Hump Day
Mornin'! It's 41° in Wildwood NJ. Happy Hump day! We're under cloud cover along with wet surfaces outside at the moment. It was raining a little while ago but has stopped. It's a bit breezy... W-NW at 10-15mph and is feeling pretty raw and damp out there. There's a 20% chance of a morning shower with clouds beginning to break up and check out by this afternoon. We should see some warm sunshine later today. Temps will get into the low-50s with NW breezes ramping up just a bit at 10-20mph. Tonight... mostly clear with a few passing clouds and temps in the low-40s with winds switching from the SW at 10-20mph. Tomorrow... sunny start with winds roaring in later in the day bringing cloud cover. Winds will be out of the W-NW at 20-30mph +gusting. I swear March is April and April is March this year. Oh... and so far, this coming weekend looks pretty wet as rain is in the forecast for both days.

Calm After The Storm
Wildwood's Boardwalk Damage |
It's a whole different can of worms this morning as breezes are out of the N-NW at 8-12mph. The birds are chirping again. The fragrance of the calmer sea is in the air. And, life is in a sense back to normal.
Expect sunshine this morning with increasing clouds this afternoon. Temps will be in the low-mid 50s with N-NW breezes at 10-15mph turning from the S-SW at 6-9mph. Tonight... Mostly cloudy with 80% chance of rain developing after midnight. Temps will drop into the low-40s with S-SW winds at 10-15mph. Crapola Monday
Mornin'! It's 55° in Wildwood NJ. You couldn't ask for more perfect weather for a Monday and a Monday with self-isolation from this Plague that continues to separate and surround us all. It's raining down at a good clip with winds that sound like a high speed train roaring by from the South at 25-35mph +gusting. It'll be like this throughout the entire day. Some wind could sustain at 50mph +major gusts with 100% chance of rain. We could see over an inch of rain as temps tap 60°. By tonight... (after dinner time) things are supposed to simmer down as temps drop into the mid-40s as the clouds clear on out. W-NW winds will then be 10-20mph. Tomorrow... mostly sunny despite some afternoon cloud cover with NW winds at 10-15mph.
FOOTNOTE: It's 12:30PM and the local weather just reported a tornado watch for our area until 6pm. If you hear sirens or get notifications of a tornado, take cover (closet, basement, interior room)! So far, today has been brutal with the winds. Next door and next door to them have begun losing the shingles from their roofs as well as an entire apartment building around the corner which lost it's roof as it completely has peeled back. Easter Sunday
Mornin! It's 48° and sunny this lovely Easter morn. Breezes are out of the South 8-10mph. The birds never seem to let us down and they're all over the island expressing their joy. The salty sea air and morning dew is such a wonderful thing as it encircled me when going on my back porch. So grateful and many mixed feelings this blessed day. Hubby and I are healthy as well as our loved ones... many, many blessings there. All churches and synagogues are closed, families are separated and quarantined, many are sick and dying. What a very intense, joyful, sad, scary time. Easter or not.
It's going to be a lovely start to the day with plentiful sunshine and temps tapping 60°. Just after mid-day, all hell's going to break loose this Easter Sunday as the clouds and winds roll in. This afternoon will be mostly cloudy with winds out of the South at 20-30mph +gusting. Tonight... strap in as an intense storm system's hitting our coast (this should have been Good Friday's weather). 100% chance of rain after midnight with potential for heavy rainfall. Temps will drop back into the low-mid 50s with very windy conditions (South at 25-35mph +gusting). Tomorrow... 90% chance of precipitation with heavy rain (potential for severe thunderstorms) temps - low60s and South winds at 35-50mph +gusting. Hunker down tomorrow. Secure whatever's outside as no doubt it will be flying all over the island.
Happy Easter!

Sunny Saturday
Mornin'! It's 42° in Wildwood NJ. Ms Sun's up and shining brightly. Those stiff breezes have taken a break and are much lighter still out of the W-NW at 10-15mph. It's feeling much colder than it has been as our heater is fired up once again and warming our bones very nicely this morning (we've had the heater turned off most of this past week). It'll be a sunny Saturday with temps in the mid-upper 50s and W-NW winds becoming stiffer at 15-25mph +gusting. It's almost as though March keeps rearing it's ugly blustery grip this April. Tonight... a few passing clouds here and there with temps dropping into the low-mid 40s and Southerly winds at 5-10mph. Tomorrow... partly sunny/partly cloudy with temps just about tapping 60° and those gusty March winds out of the South at 20-30mph +gusting. Monday looks perfectly miserable... rain (90% chance) and those very stiff winds. Perfect day to be inside!

Good Friday
Mornin'! It's 45° in Wildwood NJ. It's Good Friday and usually gray and ominous. That's how I seem to remember it. But, Ms Sun's shining brightly this morning. Winds are still playing havoc over the island out of the W-NW at 30-35mph +gusting. Lot's of tree pruning as of late! What's gut wrenching with all this wind is the recycles that are taking over the streets thanks to the thoughtless folk who put their filled recycle cans in front of 40mph gusts of wind curbside without lids. This enormous amount of plastic (which my hubby and I are trying to contain by running down the street several times already today retrieving it all ) is heading into the harbor and ocean. And, by the way, 2 of these recycle cans are from visitors (not locals)... just saying. The sea life thank you... you inconsiderate, careless idiots. Sorry. I had to vent. It's extremely disturbing to me. I'm so bowled-over by the condition of the earth as it begins to heal as the world islolates. The air and oceans have begun to heal from our abuse as mountain tops can be seen (cleaning atmosphere) and the oceans are clearer and fish can be seen in the waters more now than ever before. The birds have a good foothold as this wind blows and their chirping is louder than the howling winds and stronger than ever this morning. It's mating season for all the birds ya know and they're doing what it takes to draw in a mate by showing off in beautiful song or even defending their territory with shorter chirps not quite as tuneful. It's especially loudest in the morning. And, it's all lovely and tuneful to me. Thank God for those birds and their Springtime vocals. The "early" bird not only catches the worm, but also a mate along with my smile.
For today's weather... expect a mix of clouds and sun with gusty winds. Temps will just tap 50° with W-NW winds at 25-35mph +gusting (possibly over 50mph) and feeling like the low 40s with the windchill. Tonight... partly clear/partly cloudy with gusting winds out of the W-NW at 25-35mph +gusting. Temps will drop into the low-40s. Tomorrow... mostly sunny, mid-50s and W-NW winds at 15-25mph +gusting. Sunday... partly cloudy/partly sunny, temps in the mid-50s and S-SE winds finally calming down at 10-15mph.

Holy Hump Day!
Mornin'! It's 58° in Wildwood NJ. Happy Passover! Along with Holy week, it's the start of Passover as many of us will be celebrating these upcoming religious holy days isolated, sick, quarantined, hospitalized or worse yet... grieving. It puts healthy, self-confinement into a another (grateful) perspective. It'll be the most reflective, spiritual and prayerful holy time in our lifetime (and history) no doubt. I'm blasting "My Sweet Lord" as I type as it's my go-to inspiration.
It's cloudy with winds out of the West at 7-10mph. Everything's still damp from the overnight/early morning showers. Expect partly sunny/partly cloudy conditions with the slight possibility (20% chance) of a stray shower or thunderstorm. Temps may tap 70° today! Winds will be out of the NW at 10-15mph. Tonight... partly cloudy (20% chance of a passing shower), temps dropped down into the upper 40s and SE winds at 5-10mph. Tomorrow... 80% chance of scattered rain showers (mostly in the first half of the day) with winds ramping up big time... gusts of 40mph! Strap in! Oh... there's a "Coastal Flood Advisory" posted tonight with that leftover Full Moon's high tides.

Super Moon Tuesday
Wildwood Boardwalk - A Summer Afternoon in 2019 |
So, I knew this day was coming. I've been saying it ("It's just a matter of time") since the beach and boardwalk closed in Ocean City NJ on March 25th, all the beaches up and down our coastal areas have been doing the same. And, the time has come for our little coastal island. As of tomorrow... April 8th, The Wildwoods (North Wildwood, Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest) will be closing their beach, boardwalk, seawall and bike paths. Sunbathing, sitting in chairs, lying on blankets, organized sports and groups on the beach are prohibited until May 1st. However, you may walk, jog, fish, and surf on the beaches. North Wildwood did post that you can walk their seawall or bike on their bike path before 8am only. Reminder about today's Full Moon much higher tides... move your vehicles to higher ground if you hear those flood sirens and don't drive through damaging, corrosive tide waters.

Gray Weekend
Mornin'! It's 49° in Wildwood NJ. It's cloudy, a little misty and hardly any breezes out of the N-NE at 2-4mph. We're under a Coastal Flood Warning at the moment (probably due to the upcoming Super Full Moon on Tuesday). In fact, the flood sirens just went off which means... move your vehicle if in a low-lying, flood-prone area on the island. And, I just received notice that the bridge into Wildwood (The George Redding bridge) is closed right now due to flooding. My vehicle got moved last night before turning in. High tide is 4:47am (on the ocean side) but an hour later on the back side of the island (bay/marsh side) which is just about right now. So far, so good... no flood waters seeping onto my street from the nearby Ottens Harbor. It'll be a cloudy day with a very low chance (10%) of a passing shower. Winds will be out of the NE at 10-20mph. Temps will be just around where they are now... just about tapping 50°. Tonight... mostly clear with a few passing clouds. Temps in the low 40s and SE winds at 5-10mph. Tomorrow... partly to mostly cloudy, high of 53° and S-SW winds at 10-15mph with 40% chance of occasional rain tomorrow night.

Do We Still Say TGIF?
Mornin'! It's 49° in Wildwood NJ. It feels like 42° with the blustery winds (NW 20-25mph). It's been very windy throughout the night. It's clear with Ms Sun just rising over the horizon this lovely crisp morning. Speaking of "morning", it'll be a clear start to the day with clouds filtering in by this afternoon. There's a 20% chance of a passing shower. Temps will be in the low-50s feeling cooler (low-mid 40s) with those N-NW winds as they continue to prune the island of it's flowers as flower petals are everywhere (not to mention small tree branches). Tonight... still cloudy with a 20% chance of a passing shower, North winds at 10-20mph and temps in the low-mid 40s. Tomorrow looks mostly cloudy too with a high of 49° with those stiff breezes still checked in. Sunday will be on the sunny side with temps in the low-50s and finally calmer winds. There's a Coastal Flood Watch posted for the overnight tonight. It's probably due to the upcoming Full Moon and those much higher tides (don't drive through seeping tide water). April's full moon is a spectacular Supermoon! It'll be the biggest and brightest moon of 2020 due to being so close to the earth.

Sunshine Is Back In The Forecast!
Mornin'! It's 42° in Wildwood NJ. It feels like 34° with the stiff winds coming out of the NW at 20-25mph +gusting. It's going to be windy today with NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting over 40mph. Ms Sun's going to shine! Boy do we need that sunny lift! Temps will in the mid-upper 50s. Not sure how warm it'll feel with those blustery breezes. But, at least we'll see and feel the sunshine today unlike what the weather's been dishing out the past week. It's been really dreary as of late with cloud cover and dampness as we keep our isolation intact. Tonight... a few passing clouds with temps dropping into the low-mid 40s with NW winds still checked in at 15-25mph... yes, plus gusting. Tomorrow... 20% chance of precipitation with cloudy conditions and you guessed it... stiff breezes. April seems to be covering what March left out this year. At this point, the weekend's seems to have the "dreary" look of overcast and gray conditions again... not so much wet but not a whole lot of sunshine. Oh well, make it a point not to take todays sun's rays for granted.
