Mornin'! It's 44° in Wildwood NJ. We're under red cloud cover with stiff winds out of the E-SE at 20-25mph. "Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning" is how it goes. There's an Active Storm Warning posted as I type. This Nor'easter that's been traveling up the east side of the Country is about to hit our shores from 3PM this afternoon until 6AM tomorrow morning. This Warning includes... a major Storm, high winds, likelihood of flooding due to the rain but more importantly the push that the winds will have on our surrounding waters. The New Moon is Thursday and will have an effect of those high tides. With all that said, here's the weather...
Expect rain and wind today with temps in the mid-50s and SE winds at 25-40mph +gusting up to 50mph. Chance of rain is 100% with about a half an inch expected. Tonight... wind and rain, with cloudy conditions on the overnight, potential flooding, temps in the mid-40s and South winds at 35-50mph. Tomorrow... partly cloudy, 25% chance of rain, gusty winds out of the W-SW at 25-35mph +gusting and temps in the upper 40s. Some preparedness is needed for this one... get the wellies out, charge phones, and chargers, hunker down and secure your property (trashcans, gates, decorations etc), don't park in the low-lying areas, don't drive through flood waters, note the high tide times. Remember that the ocean high tide is one hour before the marsh/bay high tide time. You know the drill by now, I'm sure. Stay safe.
