Leap Year Day

Mornin'!  Happy Leap Year!  It's 37° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 26° with the windchill from the W-NW winds at 15-20mph.  Ms Sun's shining brightly and there's barely a cloud in th sky.
So, Leap Year days are needed to keep our calendar in alignment with the Earth's revolutions around the sun.  It takes the Earth approximately 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 45 seconds to circle once around the sun and is called a tropical year.  Without an extra (intercalary) day on the 2/29 every four years, we would lose almost six hours every year.  By the way... Julius Caesar implemented the first leap year day in 45BC and every four years it's been  on the calendar.
It'll be a sunny Leap Year Day.  Temps will be in the low-40s with W-NW winds at 15-25mph+gusting.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps in the low 30s and NW winds calmed down to 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mix of sun and clouds, temps in the mid-40s and E-SE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... cloudy, temps in the low-40s with SE winds at 5-10mph.  As for the weekend... rain on Saturday, temps around 50° and E-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Sunday... partly cloudy with peeks of sun, temps in the low-50s and light and variable winds.  And, as I bid adieu to February... I have to give thanks for being kind to Wildwood this year.  We had an unusually mild February in 2024 and for that I'm very grateful.  Until next year... see you on the other side!  Now, where are those straps that we'll need to strap in for March?
