Mostly Gray Friday

Mornin'!  It's 41° in Wildwood.  The clouds are still covering the island and they're doing that insulation thing which is making the sounds of the distant surf crashing loud and clear this early morn.  The breezes are on the light side out of the E-NE at 13-15mph. It'll be cloudy most of the day with peeks of sun throughout the day here and there as temps tap 50°...yep...you read that right.  We're doing that unseasonable temperature thing again with Springtime temps on tap this weekend beginning today.  Tonight...partly clear with temps in the mid-upper 40s and breezes out of the E-NE at 10-12mph.  We should expect sun in the morning and by tomorrow night...clouds roll in with showers beginning and raining right into Sunday afternoon.  Oh...the New Moon is tomorrow which is when we literally don't see a moon in the sky (that is if the sky's clear) as it virtually disappears. On the day of new moon, the moon rises when the sun rises. It sets when the sun sets. It crosses the sky with the sun during the day. That’s why we can’t see the new moon in the sky. It is too close to the sun’s glare to be visible. Plus its lighted hemisphere is facing away from us. Bottom line...a New Moon affects our tides the same way a Full Moon does so keep that in mind in regard to tidal flooding when the tides are high this weekend.
High tide:6:27a.m.
Low tide:12:35p.m.
