Wintry Hump Day

February 2010
Mornin'!  It's 26° in Wildwood.  Add to that those W-NW winds at 25-29mph and you've got a chill factor of 10°.  It's a winter's morn down the Shore for sure. It's clear and star lit at the moment as Ms Sun prepares to rise and shine.  It'll be cold today as the temps climb up to the low 30s.  There will be a mix of clouds as Ms Sun will eventually give way to the clouds. Winds will continue to roar until later this afternoon when they finally simmer down from the W-NW at 12-15mph.  Tonight...cloudy and cold with temps in the upper 20s and winds out of the West at 16-18mph.
High tide:5:04p.m.
Low tide:10:51a.m.
Ocean temp:46°

Some upcoming weekend reports...
From Wunderground source: A Winter storm is increasingly likely to develop into a major snowstorm across parts of the East later this week and weekend. In addition to snow, ice and strong winds may lead to power outages and treacherous travel, while coastal flooding could impact some of the shoreline. If that wasn’t enough, some or all of the largest cities in the Northeast - Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston - could be significantly impacted by this storm with heavy snow and strong winds, bringing travel to a grinding halt, between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.
And from Nat'l Weather Service source (they love presenting reports in CAPS):
A MAJOR WINTER STORM LATE FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT, WITH HIGH
CONFIDENCE IN ITS OCCURRENCE BUT LOWER CONFIDENCE IN THE DETAILS.
SNOWFALL...POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS, ESPECIALLY
INLAND FROM THE COAST. SNOW LATE FRIDAY SHOULD MIX WITH OR CHANGE
TO RAIN OR SLEET FOR A TIME SATURDAY MORNING, ESPECIALLY ALONG THE
COAST. ANY SLEET OR RAIN SHOULD CHANGE BACK TO SNOW SATURDAY
AFTERNOON. GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS COULD PRODUCE BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW, MAINLY IN AREAS WHERE THE SNOW IS NOT WET.
WINDS...THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR 60 MPH GUSTS ALONG THE COAST
SATURDAY MORNING, WITH LESSER INTENSITY FARTHER INLAND.
COASTAL FLOODING...THE SATURDAY HIGH TIDE CYCLE ALONG THE NEW
JERSEY AND DELAWARE ATLANTIC COASTS. AT THIS TIME, THERE IS A
HIGH PROBABILITY FOR MODERATE TO MAJOR COASTAL FLOODING FOR THE
MORNING HIGH TIDE CYCLES THAT INCLUDE DELAWARE BAY AND THE
ATLANTIC COASTS OF NEW JERSEY AND DELAWARE.
