Gloomy Sunday

5th Avenue Boat Ramp Web Cam
Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining at a good clip.  Winds are out of the E-NE at 10-15mph.  The gutters along the curbs on my street are all flooding.  It's looking like a "wellie" kind of day and should be interesting at high tide.  If all of that doesn't give you a good reason to turn over and just stay in bed then I don't know what does.  It's going to be a miserable first Sunday of the New Year.  Expect gray skies, periods of heavy rain throughout the day into the night with temps in the upper 40s and NE winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... light rain, mid-upper 30s, North winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... another gray day but no rain in the forecast and a high of 43°.  For today's rainy day tips... if you have to go outside especially if on foot, I'd pull out the wellies if you have them as they work wonders on keeping feet dry.  If driving, try not to drive through flood waters as more than likely it's salt water mixed with the rain water and is corrosive and bad for the undercarriage of your vehicle.  The tides are important today as they'll add to the rain's flooding during high tides.  Remember too, that high tide is always an hour later on the back side (bay/marsh side) of the island.  Know your low-lying areas that flood and create havoc on your vehicle.  Be careful where you park.  Now for another cup of coffee and that new book I got for Christmas!
