The Titanic Compared To Today's Cruise Ship |
Mornin'! It's 51° in Wildwood NJ. We're under thick cloud cover and wet surfaces from the overnight and this morning's rains. Everything got a good watering and we're in the damp, raw and chilly mode. Breezes are minimal out of the E-NE at 3-6mph. It'll be generally cloudy today with a slight chance of rain showers before the afternoon (40% chance). Temps will be tapping 60° with W-NW winds at 5-10mph. By this evening, we might see Ms Sun setting as the clouds continue to filter out. Tonight... still some leftover clouds, temps down into the mid-40s and NW winds ramping up at 10-20mph. Tomorrow... Ms Sun returns! It'll be warmer with a high of 60° but windy with W-NW winds at 15-25mph +gusting. The weekend's looking good... sunny with seasonable temps (mid-upper 50s) and not as blustery as Friday. Somehow, I always remember the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. It was 109 years ago last night (11:40pm) that the enormous ship ran into an iceberg on its very first voyage and sunk (less than 3 hrs later) the morning of April 15th (2:20am) with over 1,000 passengers still on board. Over 1500 souls lost their lives to that fateful ocean cruise. The ocean water was 28°.
