Stay Out Of The Water

Aerial Shot of the North End of the Island
Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 87% with a dewpoint of 63°.  Winds are stiff out of the E-NE at 15-20mph +gusting.  It's raining lightly.  It's been raining lightly since yesterday.  We'll have a gray day with showers off and on throughout the day (50% chance), temps in the low-70s and East winds at 15-25mph.  Tonight... cloudy with 25% chance of rain, temps in the low-70s with those East winds at 10-20mph +gusting.  Tomorrow... same.  Showers on and off (50% chance).  Possibly peeks of sunshine in the afternoon, temps in the upper 70s; perhaps hitting 80°, E-SE winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... cloudy, 25% chance of rain, temps in the low 70s with E-NE winds at 15-25mph. Thursday... windy with rain showers (50% chance), temps in the mid-70s and NE winds at 25-35mph. Thursday night... cloudy and windy, temps in the low-60s and North winds at 25-35mph.  Hurricane Erin is still out in the Atlantic creating some issues.  It's far offshore (750 miles S-SE of Cape Hatteras and the outer banks of NC) and is currently a Category 3 hurricane with sustained winds from 111-130mph.  It's capable of causing catastrophic damage.  As for our Jersey coast, the storm is already creating dangerous rip currents, high surf and upcoming potential coastal flooding.  Beaches were closed to swimming yesterday and I'm guessing the same for today and tomorrow.  There's a High Surf Advisory posted until Thursday night. Once again, know your low-lying areas in Wildwood if here.  Know your "high" tide times and be aware when traversing around the island. Obviously, there will be flooding in various sections of Wildwood.  Also, there's always 2 high tides in a 24 hour period.  The ocean's high tide is always one hour ahead of the back bay / marsh area high tide.  Be careful not to drive through flood (basically ocean) waters which are extremely damaging to the undercarriage of your vehicles.
High Tides: 5:00AM and 5:33PM
Low Tide: 10:46AM
Ocean Temp: 78°
Sunrise: 6:16AM
Sunset: 7:48PM
UV Index: 1.8
Rip Current: High Risk (extremely dangerous rip currents; don't go into the ocean until further notice)
