Mornin'! It's 58° in Wildwood NJ. It's chilly, gray and breezy with winds out of the E-NE at 20-25mph. I've got a lot to unpack for this morning's blog. First thing's first... adios September! It was an awesome "jewel" of a month for the Jersey shore as the weather this month has been perfect. Not so much for Florida as all my thoughts and prayers are constantly with that battered and horrifically abused beautiful state. I can only imagine what that must be like to have everything you own obliterated with nowhere to turn and have a perfect beautiful weather day. That's what's happening in Sarasota and Ft. Myers at the moment.
Not so much for us as we're about to feel the very outer edges of Ian. Expect these morning winds to gather intensity out of the E-NE at 25-35mph +gusting. Rain will be developing by late morning/early afternoon (70% chance). Temps will just about tap 67°. Tonight... 100% chance of rain with temps in the low-60s and E-NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting. 1-2 inches of rain are expected. There's a coastal flood advisory posted as local heavy rainfall most likely will be happening. Tomorrow... more rain (100% chance) and wind. Temps will be just tapping 70° with NE winds at 20-30mph +gusting. Again... heavy rainfall is possible. Sunday... rain likely (70% chance) with temps in the upper 60s with E-NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting. Monday... 50% chance of rain and Tuesday... 40% chance. There's a small craft advisory in effect along with gale warning in effect along our coast today into tomorrow and Sunday. 8-10 foot seas are posted with advisory. Rip Currents: High risk which means life-threatening conditions in the ocean. Don't think about going into to the ocean with such dangerous conditions. I just saw that The Race Of The Gentlemen is still a go this weekend as it's rain or shine. However, the Italian Festival... has been canceled. Until next year... see you in September! I can only hope October treats us as kindly.

FOOTNOTE at 3pm: I just heard that all the weekend events beginning tomorrow: Race of the Gentleman, The Italian Festival, The WildwoodCrest City Yard Sale and the Fishing tournament have all been canceled due to the stormy weather conditions. Nothing has been rescheduled. It's currently raining lightly with extremely windy conditions which are supposed to worsen. We're strapped in and hunkered!
